No probs installing a camera, you can even get one that use's RF, so you dont have to run any cables?, do a google or dogpile it...

There is a place near where I live who specialise CCTV and sports camera setups.

You want me to get you their number next time I go past?

hmmm, my bruv in law is a CCTV & security systems engineer, i'll ask if he can get anything suitable if you like, he can get hold of a wide range of tiny cameras :)

You can get all you need on e aby mate, look for hidden cams, they tend to be smaller than the norm...Have to ask though, why do you want / need this ?

Also, maybe worth asking on http://www.bikerclub.co.uk

Sorry, cant offer any usefull info, but was just wondering if anyone has seen the DVD- Ghostrider II ? Pretty awsome stuff and he has a cam mounted in a superb place which is down low giving a view of the rear tyre and has one on the front as well and shows the front and rear split screen on the footage. The best bit is when he takes this turbocharged bike out (cant remember what its called) and he wheelies past his mate doing about 170+mph! ...oh and all the bits where he gets the police to chase him. He does a burnout outside the cop-shop to get them in chase

If you aint seen it try and get hold of a copy

Hi BigRoy,

A friend of mine has a dual cam setup, one front - one rear on his track day bike, and a switch thing on the handle bars. No screen though, bugger looking at a screen on a bike at silly mph!!!

hmm, interesting... I'm thinking of putting in a covert CCTV system at my house, as the local chavvies are pi$$ing me off more and more.....

If you get a moment, Paul, can I be really cheeky, and see if you could ask him for a price for something covert, that will work in low light (under a 300w floodlight on a 15 foot pole). With 2, 3 or 4 cameras, and a PC card to allow me to plug it all into an AMD 2800 powered PC PLEASE At least one of the cams will need to work in possibly very low light, so Infra Red would be a good option

If you dont get time etc, dont worry, cheers

Ahh, are you using this for filming ? i got lost when i read you wanted a screen ?????

yeh thats a mental vid, also the one where hes wheeling witha copper in chase LMAO

Ghostrider 3 is better:D I run a bullet cam and camcorder on my "trackdays" in the summer (A24,A27 and A29!:D)

No what I'm talking about is a replacement for mirrors, cam to screen. This is not really for a bike but for my friends, supercharged busa engined, kit car thingy! 0-60 is 3 second jobby. But it runs off of the bikes loom and battery. What would you need in terms of kit and can you get inverters to match the bikes battery etc.

I dont see why the bike loom and battery have any bearing on the fitting and running, the bike runs at 12v just like the car stuff...

I'l mail my mate and find out all the kit he has for the bike, and let you know, HOPEFULLY today

Or if you just wanna see the rozzers coming from the rear get one of these mate...

Hey BigRoy,

My mate with the cams on his race bike mailed me this.....

"I've got two bullet cameras mounted on the bike, one front and one rear. And one microphone. Both cams and mic are powered from a 12v regulated supply. I read on another site about a guy who fitted a cam and powered it straight off the bike's electrics but the cam kept getting fried as the voltage was spiking when the bike was revved so he fitted a power regulator to keep the voltage at 12v. I have a couple of switches mounted on the top yoke that switches the power on and off from the cams so I can change between them while riding. Both cams are wired into the camcorder that lives in a padded cage under the seat. I've got the lanc controller fitted so I can stop and start recording while riding.

I got all the gear from RF Concepts. www.rfconcepts.co.uk"

Hope that helps

Steve
