Just got a press release from BT - this bit is the most interesting...

BT today announced a transformation of its Retail broadband services. Customers will be able to work faster and download information quicker than ever before and at no extra cost.

The move will mean BT’s 1.4 million retail broadband customers will transfer to a new super-fast standard. Most consumer and business customers will have their speed increased up to 2 Mb – as much as four times faster than current speeds. Those with BT Broadband Basic will have their speed increased from 512k up to 1 Mb.

Looks like the changes will be taking place over the next couple of months :nana2:

About bloody time ;)

Oops, just found a little more info...

New speeds will become effective for new consumer customers from February 17 and for new business customers from April 1. Migration of existing customers will start from the same dates.

Bloody typical - I'm a business customer :(

Blueyonder did this in early december. Not often you get something for nothing.

maybe we could get ccp to join them and make eve servers a bit more stable lol

I've just had the same thing as this from AOL this week!! So it looks like all the big ISP's are doing the same thing!! :D

ah well i have 4mb anyway.

would be nice to have 8mb i suppose though, commin BlueYonder ;)

LOL Yeah right! BT have totally ****ed up the NHS N3 rollout, I think its about 13 months behind schedule so you should get your upgrades in about 20 years!
