Hey gang,

 

i should have had this done already, as i was hoping to get together this coming sunday 26th Nov, however i am having trouble finding a venue.

 

Having swapped emails with a few of you, and got some broad requirements, it seems some of us will be accompanied by partners and/or children. From experience, i know that some of them don't share the same enthusiasm we do.... ;)

 

Is the date okay with most of you ? Although it is short notice...

 

I think the majority of the owners are south/south west london, with a few kent, essex and bucks.

 

So realistically, anywhere around the M25 is okay, south would probably be easier for the majority.

 

Has anyone got any ideas on a venue ?

 

I will be checking out a pub tonight, that has a large car park, does food, i think has a garden, and i think also has a childrens indoor play area.

This is on the A24 between Cheam and Morden.

(I don't know the name, but will let you know later)

 

If anyone can think of any other suitable places around their area, then let me know.

Otherwise it means pushing back another week, which is not a problem i guess, but the weather gets steadily worse... :(

 

In the new year, we will organise another karting type event, hopefully outdoors, but better weather is called for there.. ;)

 

But let's get something done this year hey ?

okay, i had a drive around last night to have a look for somewhere. Ha, pub anyone ?

 

We can :-

 

go find a pub

 

go find a pub with some extra interest

-Near a park, epsom downs, with garden, etc.

 

meet at my place, and decide what/where/whether to go and eat once all arrived.

 

There is a pub around the corner that does food if anyone wants to eat, and there is a park opposite my house if anyone brings kids...

Some of you may have seen a post of mine a few days back asking whether I should sell my Calibra to buy a 300. Well, I know it's a real blag, but would anyone really object if I came along to this meet and had a look at your lovely cars? If this is a club-only thing, then I quite understand, but I'd love to see some 300s up close. :o)

 

Club Calibra are having a meeting in Watford on Saturday 25th if any of you want to come along to that! About 15 callys, one Supra and one MR2 so far. There's my 290bhp turbo 4x4, one 250bhp 3.0 V6 and a 300bhp turbo (not broken in yet though) so we should be able to give you some healthy competition. :o)

 

i can make it on sundaybut im in need of sponsership in the region of 300 pounds to make the trip.

My Zed is one caliper short at the moment so I'm not sure if I could get to the meeting place! If I can arrange a lift would it okay for a Sunny GTi-R owner to join us?

(1)we can go to Epsom Downs and meet at Tattenham Corner

there are plenty of car parks,

a couple of pubs,

and if you are bringing kids, room for them to run around :)

I mention kids, because a couple of you i know have them, and have said you may bring them, and i will also have mine on sunday as well.

And a broken down Z is the only thing worse than a bored kid in the car, i think.... ;)
