Well, another issue has surfaced. Since I fitted the ECU I noticed that the speedo dies below 10mph and sits there until you gain speed and the needle catches up again.

Is this run by the ECU?

Featured Replies

Yep, could be.

Check the ECU connector is tightened up enough with the bolt and that it's not going in at any angle. (It goes VERY tight) Disconnect the battery neg terminal first!

If it solves the problem then check for ecu errors at some point ... (not just after you've re-connected the battery!!!)

I bought a speedo converter from the Z centre

for kmh to mph and my speedo does exactly the same thing now.It also removes the speed limiter by altering the pulses from the gearbox to the speedo. The JWT ecu also removes the speed limiter so that could be why.

I fitted my mph converter before my JWT ecu so I dont know if mine causes the same problem.

Yup, I had the speedo converted to MPH from KMH and a HKS Speed limit Defencer fitted. When i fitted the JWT I removed the SLD and wired it back to stock.

Could be that something is out of Kilter.

I'll check the connector though and see if all is OK. Thanks for the tip.

Mind you who needs a speedo.

A flashing light with FAST and STOP will be enough.
