I know that most people go for proprietry exhaust names (like Mongoose  ) but I've heard some good things about Powerflow exhausts. Plus they're guaranteed for the duration you own the car.

This will be my first upgrade :hyper: ETU (Estimated Time to Upgrade!) 2 months.

So... anyone have any views ???

They had a bad name a few years back for rust, but think they have started using t304 stainless now. Apart from that people who use them seem to like them. I chose longlife, who are much the same sorrt of outfit, so a matter of personal choice really

I've had Powerflow systems fitted to my last two cars, not sure what I'm doing with the Z yet, just want to make sure nothing blows up before I start spending money!

Both were done at RSR in Redhill, a couple of friends have had them done there as well, no problems, the guy who does them is good, so once the sales guys have done their bit you're good to go!

Main thing is you can choose exactly what you want, ok not sure about the performance aspect of it all as they just make it to your spec. Always been a bit dubious of pricey Jap kit and a pipe is a pipe to me! I guess it's all in the quality though, maybe try to check out some work they've done, all the pipes/backboxes are Powerflow but your local "approved fitter" may be good or bad, good luck with whatever you choose!

I'm running a Powerflow cat-back system on my twin turbo, and I'm rather chuffed with it. As previously stated, they used to have a bad name, but I took the chance anyway. The welding is no work of art (could just be the particular guy that did mine) but the whole system is made to your own spec, so you can have it as loud or as quiet as you like, and there is a massive range of tailpipes to choose from.

I must say though, the fit was excellent - mounted nice and solid, no rattles or bangs!

Best part was, only £400 all in - happy boy :D.

the reason for the bad press was the use of poor grade stainless.

Quality stainless has a lower iron contant and is therefore less likely to rust. The less iron, the better the quality. This is all easily tested by use of a magnet - if it sticks to the metal, then there is enough iron in there to make it rust (ie poor quality).

A good stainless system should outlive just about every other component on the car.

powerflow twin upswept endpipes and full de cat custom build 400quid or thereabouts

had the exhaust 18 months no problems at all

worth the money in my opinion but if your going new exhaust, intake route its worth the extra to get the biggest bore pipework you can it pays dividends in power and tunability later on

The outfit in basingstoke are very professional, didnt have one of thier systems but had my mongoose fitted by them, in hindsight I'd probably have had them make me one... It's a franchise thing isnt it? so the individual branches may be a bit hit and miss....

Another 2 year Powerflow owner here, never had any issues although its a bit too quiet for my liking....I dont want noyracer loud but mines been toned right down, it was on the car when I bought it...

Although I am sure some GD Downpipes will soon change all that... ;)

Mark, you could just take out the silencers in the middle - that makes the sound kind of 'in your face!' - like mine - but whilst it make tunnels great fun, long journeys on the motorway are seriously hard work!

Now theres an idea and if I dont like it they can always go back in.... :)

Thanks!
