NZR - Unmetred net access on NTL line. Need info.

Got an NTL phone line and every internet service provider that is recommneded to me is incompatible with their system.

Does anyone run an ISP with an NTL phone?? If so pls can you recommend one to use.

Rang NTL and they say they don't offer unmetred access, maybe next year....

Can't wait this long!

Thanks

I had the same problem before I was put on ntlworld.

The only compatible ISP I found that offered unmetered access was AOL. Not the best but will get you on line untill NTL get there act together.

Lets not forget that AOL have been sued by the US government for changing setting on systems that have no need to be changed. If you install AOL on a system that already has an IPS connection installed it regualy messed up the old one to make it unusable. Unfortunatly and other dial-up connections not to an IPS where also messed up, to the point if you reintall the dial-up it still doesnt work.

Just thought I would tell you

Guys thanks for the input.

I dread to use AOL though!!

I wouldn't mind using Freeserve but then again NTL dont support it!

Steve - you lucky boy. I tried to get NTLWorld broadband and was told "We're sorry, not yet available in your area".

Sorry for having a moan today....

George,

I was like you a few months ago. Sick of my server, looking into BTOpenWorld. Not in our area. I have been trying for over a year now. In the end I went to blueyonder. It has been bad for about 2 months but I think they have fixed somthing because it is flying now.

I use telco4u.net on an NTL line. No probs, fast and easy. And cheap

Thanks for the help guys.

I give up on NTL they are so cr*p.

My backup ISP is Freecall UK. Local rates apply as usual and it only costs £6 to join, forever. Atleast it did when I joined.

I wouldn't touch (A)rseholes (O)n (L)ine again. They are exactly that!
