Dear Members,

I'm a Newbie and joined your forum today as my ZX has just arrived today from Japan.

Can anyone advise me on making my vehicle legal for the UK roads.

I've been told that it just needs a Foglight with indicated switch and I can then insure the car, send the paperwork to DVLA with £38 for plates and the money for either 6/12 months road tax.

Is this correct?

Help please!! I'm in the North East, Teeside area.

Kind regards

Wayfarer

The trouble for me at the moment is the traders on here are doing some really good deals so it would be rude not to  as far as having work done I would always recommend using someone that knows this car well, especially the mechanics and workshops off this board as they are highly recommended by others.

Hi SuffolkZX,

I know what you mean and I've been checking out all the traders offers etc, I'm waiting for some extra cash to come in and I'll become a paid up ZX Club member as there seems to better value in that! :D

As for getting the really good guys that know the Zed to do the work on mine, well I don't know anyone in my area and I've even been asking in the forum, but alas..no one has responded with anything.

You're quite fortunate being down South, there seems to be quite a few resources for you, I seem to be limited where I am.

I'll eventually get the car's clutch sorted out, once that's done I'll be able to drive to these guys and get some quality work done!

Oh...I forgot to tell you that your Zed looks the business, I'm well impressed.

Nice one!

Thanks for the info, I'm always checking out stuff on the forum, someone will evenyually relent and let me know stuff! :p

Kind regards,

Wayfarer

Where abouts are you? I would not think twice about travelling a few hundred miles to get the right person to look at my car if I needed to, make sure you pay up to be a member on here the guys will be a load of help to you, if theres anything I can help you with just ask.

Hi SuffolkZX,

I'm in Teesside, in a small town called Billingham not really on the map.. :)

Nearest place on the map is Middlesbrough.

I know the guys in the ZXClub are helpful and I will become a member because of the advantages it has, this is a no brainer and it's just timing and funds at the moment. :(

I can't travel hundreds of miles yet because my clutch is slipping and don't want to chance it, I'm considering a car transporter, but again it's down to funds.

Where abouts are you located in Ipswitch, never been there, I've got an excuse now! Might have to get you to do the clutch!

No...seriously I really appreciate your offer and won't forget that.

Please remember that if I can help you at all just give me a shout.

I'm not brilliant with the Zed ..but hey who knows there might be something that I can do....I've got it....I can always give support and just watch! :duffer:

Kind regards,

Wayfarer

Wayfarer have you spoken to Autoadvan about the clutch slipping or did they tell you it was slipping before you bought the car, I complained because of a minor problem I had and they refunded £100 which was a surprise as I was not even going to mention it at first as it was so trivial, could be worth a try. Dont forget to post some pictures up of the car once you subscribe, wine red should look gawgeous

Hi SuffolkZX,

I've been in touch with them to obtain more information about the car and I mentioned the clutch, they gave me a Nippon number to call regarding the car.

I haven't been able to get in touch with anyone.

I've just sent out an email to autoadvan mentioning my concerns and problems...oh and I also just happened to mention about another ZX Club Uk forum member that was giving assistance too.

He only had a very, very trival problem....mine is major!

We'll just have to wait and see for this, it will be something worthwhile mentioning to all forum members if Autoadvan comeback with something decent.

I'll let you defo's know what the outcome is.

The car looks fantastic in the wine red...kinda burgandy in it, needs some nice polishing, but there isn't many scuff, scratches. Got some tints too, might have to remove the film, it looks a bit dark to me, I'm a scaredy cat for the law! Been reading some crazy stuff in the forum about window tints.

But hell it looks good!

Once I become an official ZX Club Member and get picture priviledges, I'll upload some for you to see, got no body kit on her but that will come later!

Kind regards,

Wayfarer
