hi need some help with wheels size

 

can i fit 265 rear tyres on a 18" x 8 wheel????

ive been told alsorts my old wheels had them on and i think they were only 8" on the rear and 7.5 fronts

need some help as iam finding 8.5 rims are hard to get in chrome

Yokohama show 265/35-18 tyres as recomended on 9.5" rims and 9" to 10.5" as permitted. Taken from Demon tweeks catalogue page 344(professional motorsport edition 2004)

HAd 265 on a 8 no probs, really you shouldnt have more than a 245. A 265 is designed for 9" minimum according to places ive spoke to last few days

so what should the right set of wheels be for a 300zx in 18" front + back???????? is 7.5 for the front to small ????

ideally you want a minimum of 9 inch on the rear and 8 on the front, i just got rid of 8's all round because they were too small, see my Volk TE37's for sale if you had to you could get them chromed, but IMO chrome will be out by this summer ;)

i think my last chrome wheels my of been 8" all round but never looked small ??? i cant get to wide due to the car been droped to the floor so do you think 8" will be ok still??

i ran my last car with same tyres front 225x40x18 rear 265x3518 for over a year and no problems

Yeh you wont have any probs with the tyre sizes, it's just for optimum racing/fast road the rubber should not be stretched that far bud ;)

thanks for puting my mind at rest as ive already bought my new tyres before i got my new wheels so iam just waiting for my new size wheels to come now but will get them in 8" as thats the widest they do in them.

 

i might try and sell the 265 and go down a size just in case as soon as poss.

il have the tyres if u like mate if they fit , ive currently fot 265 x 35 x 18 on back with 18 x 8.5. On the front i got 235x 40 x 18. never had a prob yet !!
