Been to a propshaft repairs in Bristol to get a quote on the price of a proshaft repair, he was very helpful and explained that as we all know zeds are renown for this problem and no matter how good the repair is it will always come back as they like eating propshafts. He did come up with a solution relacing the propshaft with a one piece propshaft taking away the join altogether for the same price, he said he has done this for about 5 members of the ownes club.

So if anyone as had this done, if you could let me know if it was any good or if anyone has any information on the subject pros & cons it would be very appreicated

cheers

Yami,

If you do a search for (one piece propshaft) you will find a thread for this under my name, when i fitted this to my car it created a did of debate on the forum with the pros and cons of doing this. I still have my car and to date i have had no vibration since changing the shaft and contary to some peoples thoughts it has not broken apart at speed ( well as fast as i date go anyway) hope this may help. I have some pictures if i can suss how to get them on here.

Cheers

I had a carbon one. Very happy with the quality, but had vibration issues. Had it balanced locally and now it's fine. Had it fitted the same time as UD Pulley, so can't tell the difference it made, but both together was quite surprising.

So are your prop UJ's actually knackered, or does it just need a new support bearing ?(which is what Zeds do have a problem with)
