Meshing Headlamp Panel

I have new headlamp panel which needs mesh being placed in the two vents. I have the mesh. What is the best way to locate the mesh in the panel?

woah that mesh in the bottom section looks good. What happens when u hit something wit the front spoiler tho does it bend and go back to shape or mash it up?

still moves up & down like the underside does, smile.gif im forever cathing it on the top of high curbs.

Not too harder job, really.

use as many fixings as poss on the bottom lip, DONT fix it at the top & be very - very fussy over the quality of the matting. If you want it to stay there!

316 s/s or zintec maluable are the best smile.gif

And have some patients.:O

Also if you plan your cuts right it will force air up on the filter smile.gif its angled at 38 degrees!

yes please Jeff - does you write up sound like Harves tips?

T3RBO Harves got it right, except I went for the reverse fixed the top not the bottom and folded a return back either way will work as it allows for the spoiler/ bumber to flex and not distort the mesh.

Incidentally the mesh is available in some lairy colours as a Max Power part or spray to suit your own car, cost is around £12+ vat from my wholesalers and is enough to do it twice , or two cars.

I used body filler the one that you mix together with the hardner, push the mesh into the filler and hold until it sets, it

sets rock hard within a few minutes.

If you've ever seen that guy on Discovery Channel building the AC Cobra replica kit. He used a mastic gun with a cartridge of polyurethane mastic to fix the mesh panels from the inside of the Cobra bodyshell. Its flexible and adhesive. Guess you can also pull it back off if you ever want to. Looked a dodle.

Guys,

Black sealer/mastic from good old Harry Halfords - it's 10 squids - sets firm but flexable after about 2 hours.

Easy to remove in case of replacement/repair without damaging paint/body. Trust me on this one.
