Rattle at idle!

Noticed when I got back darn sarf yesterday that I could hear this faint rattle coming from the drivers side at idle.

Not immediately concerened about it, having been on TT.net the consensus points towards the pre-cat covers being loose or the turbo heatshield corroded and the U clamps givin' it large rattle stylee.

Anyone else had this? It seems quite common in the US Z's! wink.gif

Bitch to get to aswell...ARSE! biggrin.gif

P.S. Don't bother with any SE jokes either! wink.gif

If I apply slight throttle, maybe foot down an inch or less and rev up to about 1100/1200rpm it stops. Take foot off throttle and it's there again!

when we were doing the cats i found on the exhausts a shield and two bolts on there can be loose.

mind you probably S.E biggrin.gif i couldent resist biggrin.gif

I should think it was SE that probably stole the other half of your exhaust. I'd guess Pete was planning on sticking it where the Sun don't shine, but you must have left too quickly !! LOL biggrin.gif

You mean the AIV valves Ian???? Ah-ha - no you don't - I've just remembered - PCV valves - can cause a rattle but I'd expect they were replaced by Shitty Engineering biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

Andy,

It's quite hard to describe, but it's not so much a rattle but more like something is going round quite slowly at idle.

I thought it might be the turbo making the noise like the turbine had starting getting dry or summat and scraping on the inside of the turbo.

But the noise is further back than that, more like downpipe area or firewall drivers side, nothing from passenger side!

wink.gif

CheerZ for putting so much effort into this guyZ, most impressed at the amount of grey matter processing going on to solve it! biggrin.gif

P.S. You guyZ are good, but how good are you? Does anyone know where the female G spot is? Something tells me nobody can answer that one! ROFLMFAO biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

LMFAO!Now we are on about cun*s!Whats going on?
