can anyone know of a good free popup blocker it's driving me ma, and it's the same pages every time

Featured Replies

If its the same page every time it sounds more like spyware.

If not. Install Windows XP SP2 if you can, that has one installed.

Or use Mozilla (FireFox) browser that has one built in.

Other option are zone alarm firewall which also has a popup blocker on it.

There are many others too.

Yup...Googles fairly good...Zone alarm can cause problems with other downloads and using network hubs.AVG wont catch all the nastys but "Web Root" is a similer programe that won't cause as many probs.Otherwise use "SPYBOT Search and Destroy" :smash: to locate the spyware and blitz it...Its free from here:-

Its called "castle media" and "search miracle"

If any one knows of how to remove em..let me know plz.

PS...sorry 4 hijacking your thread bud...Im just a thread whore!!! :nono:

XP SP2 should block pop-ups. Chris, gimme a call if you need any help.

Google toolbar is good too.

I may get flammed for this, but I've not heard of a toolbar yet that HASN'T got some sort of spywear in somwhere!!!! I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot barge pole!!! :D (Not that I've got a ten foot barge pole ;), and why I'd want to touch anything with one anyway is beyond me  )

Pop-Up Stopper = I'd recomend Panicware's stopper, very good, but I've been told that you can't get the free addition anymore, well I've got it on disc if you want it.

EDIT*** Free version available from this link , HTH :D

I always use hijackthis to remove really stubborn ones. Its not so "user" friendly, but does show you everything so you can decide if things are legit.
