YAY!!!!!!!!!!! My Bumper is ready for collection!!

:D :D :D :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :nana2: :nana2: :nana2:

I'm picking my new bumper up this afternoon from the bodyshop, as the painting is complete :D

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!

Just gota put the hard pipe kit on, that I got from Smithy, and I can take her out for a test drive.

I can't wait.

If I get the chance (fitting and daylight permitting) I'll post a pic or two tonight.

A couple of quick shots of her. By the time I'd finished messing around and then took her for a test drive, it was getting too dark for a decent pick. I'll take some good ones once I've washed her.

First, sparkly new engine bay....

And second, the new bumper.......... But what the pic doesn't show is that the colour match isn't all that good, I'll have a word with the bodyshop next week to see if there is anything they can do. (this pic has been brightness/contrast adjusted so that you can see it :D )

On the whole I'm pleased with all the work that has gone into this little project, although it's still not quite finished just yet ;)

Nice one Dave - looks very good in the pics. Hope you get the paint issue sorted - at the end of the day you're the one who has to live with it!

Steve :)

Thanks guys, it's been nice to drive her again.

As for the paint, not sure what, if anything, can be done, but we'll see. Then again the leading edges of both wings and the bonnet could do with a re-spray anyway :D .... hmmmm, more bloody expense

looks good mate, how does she drive?

well done also,:D

She drives like a bag of sh1te!!! But then thats because I still havent changed the injector and coil pack connectors. I hope that sorts it out, otherwise I'm back to square one.

Deffo looking good mate. Cant wait to see the beast. Whats up with the paint? She looks very bling mate. Whats left to do to her?

Ivan

The paint on the bumper is slightly darker than on the wings, This is what I was worried about when I had the boot lid done, but it turned out a perfect match. I haven't spoken to my bodyshop guy yet, but I will next week, as I've got to book her in to have the rear bumper 'Blown-In' to remove some scratches.

Whats left is the coil pack plugs and the injector connectors, well thats as far as the original work anyway. As for future work, I've got no-end of ideas I'd like to do, but one thats been bugging me for a while now is to have the rear lights converted to clear... ALL clear :D I've got an old set that I'll use as templates, and then I'll sort mine out once I'm happy.

Then there's more bling :D and the leather interior to finish. But in the meantime i think I may be looking at serviceing the brakes next.

Looking nice Dave.

Just take care or you'll slip down that slippery slope to.

" Oh my god have I really spent that much?"

I know I did and now I'm at "Well I might as well do it as I really want it, So stop crying and get on with it."

I recon it my be finished by the summer of 2006, but I'll use her this summer as she is.

Very nice Dave!!-be interesting to see what colour my bumpers come back in!

For those who asked, here is a close-up pic of the FOS wing/bumper. The pic doesn't really show how bad it is though.

And another shot of the front bumper........ I really must get rid of that old cooker :D then again it does come in handy for putting things on when I'm working on the car ;)

Anyway I've been to see the bodyshop, and he says that it isn't a problem and he'll sort it our when it goes in for the rear bumper. And I have to agree with him when he said that if it was on the car when he did it, then he could have sorted it out then, but also, as we both said there was no problem when he did the rear boot lid. well no harm done, these things happen, it'll be ok in the end :D

Nice one Dave!!

Looks fekkin ace mate :D:D

UPDATE........

She is booked back into the bodyshop for 8th February. She'll have the rear bumper re-sprayed, to remove some scratches, the lights panel , to remove some flaky paint from a previous spray job, and to have the front bumper tinted so that it looks the correct shade of Cherry :D :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

This should be just in time ready for the 20th at Santa Pod :D
