Hi guys,

 

Considering getting this disconnected and just wondered the best way to go about it. I see get greddy have a hicas locking bar, anyone fitted this or know of the best solution?

Easiest way is to Just disconnect and bridge the connector under the engine bay, 10 second job :)

 

Connector is the brown electrical one together with the hicas stuff under engine bay. Disconnect it, and stick a metal spade type connector in the end of the plug closest to front of car.

 

That way u get to try it, to see if u prefer it, and if not, put it back.

 

You can always go the for the locking, and removal for weight savings later.

Just dumped all mine I read an old post of JD's on an n/a pump conversion but because I have bought an unorthodox pully set I think I have to keep my tt pump any pictures on how to disable the pump on the hicas side??

having only driven a zx briefly i cant work out why you'd want to remove the hicas system. doesn't it help cornering/handling?

Nissan spent millions developing the zx and they obviously came to the conclusion HICAS significantly improves the cars stability and handling. The problem is now the cars are up to 16 years old and things wear out including the HICAS mechanism which can cause the opposite effect and cause the car to become unstable and handle worse. It can be costly to repair so disabling it may be a cheaper option.
