Very Very Rough

Had my car parked up for 2 weeks with the battery dis-connected.

Went out last night and it was rough as old nails.

a. She went into Saftey boost first time i booted up the turbo's

b. Put he in Sport mode and she redlined in 1st and would not change to 2nd till i took my foot off the gas.

c. Engine tapping noise so loud i thought there was something under my hood with a hammer.

I know when you the ecu is reset it take some time get back to running how it was, but are these normal symptoms?

You done an ECU diag?

Not yet gonna connect my conzult up to her on saturday

No thats not normal!!! Tapping for the first few seconds is normal when an engine has been stood due to the oil draining back into the sump from the top end. When you first start the car the oil has to make its way through the engine back up to the top and get up to pressure to open up the lifters (could I have worded that any worse? :D). If its still ticking really badly then chances are you have a stuck lifter.

The rough running, probably caused by condensation build up on one or more connectors. Check the coilpacks haven't got wet and also check the MAS. Of course an ECU diagnostic will tell you if there's any other sensors at fault :)

Oh, and check the TPS connector ;)

Andy, can you check I aint got a stuck lifter :)

Mine made a tapping noise for at least a minute - then I shut engine off
