I have had a rather dead zed for the past week, wouldn't fire but was turning over o.k. I found out this evening that there was a fuse/relay (not sure which) blown in the small box under the bonnet on the drivers side (has about 6 fuses in it), which controlled the fuel pump. No fuel pump - no fuel - no car start, at last!

I swapped out one of the other fuses from the same box (the one for the electric seat as it was the same rating) and the car started - then promptly died. The fuse I had put into the fuel pump socket had also blown now.

So now I know why the car wouldn't start, but does anyone have any idea where I start looking for the cause of the fuse/relay blowing?

Gareth, i am an auto electrician in Chester, give me a call, get the car in and we will fix it.

Bob the sparky, can we fix it? Yes we can !!

most cases its a short in the installation of rear fog lamps on jap spec cars, that have been wired by a cowboy to the ignition on the zed, blowing the ignition fuse.
