OK, so the high level spoiler has got really boring now, and I want to smooth the rear ( ;) ).

What kind of total price would you expect to pay for this work to be done?

Cheers,

Brian.

Sell your spoiler. That should cover the costs. ;)

Id imagine, if you have the high level spoiler most of the work will already be done. Filling holes/rear cover etc. Just be a case of removing silicone and cleaning it up.

Brian

Take it off yourself and do most of the prep work. this is what i done and it is gonna save me at least £100. If yours is bonded on, get some strong string, get a few starnds together and in a rip sawing action pull your way through the bonding goo. Once its off buy a tin of Swan lighter fluid and buff off the excess black goo (fluid brings it off a treat)

1 hours work will save you the dosh :)

Old spoiler off (filled with water which had rusted the tailgate) tailgate skin on, filled, and boot resprayed = £275 cash for mine.

Scottywil - Will be doing!

Chris - Hmm, now theres a thought, what about the respray cost?

Cheers guys, keep em coming! :)

Mike, where did you get yours done? Just got a quote from a well used (By z owners) place for £300, this wouldnt include any parts, as all im doing is getting it resprayed.

brian iv been quoted 150 for removing crap stock spoiler, prepping/filling/sprayin tailgate and fitting perspex lens

iv taken the old spoiler and wiper off myself (maybe 1-2 hours of bloody hard work) so that should hopefully save me few quid

yaseen

I wouldnt pay a penny over £175 personally if you take off hte spoiler yourself etc. Not a lot of work in yours like Mikes as you've had it all done before.

i reckon itd probably be the same, it comes down to which one you prefer and how much each costs from the zcentre

if you go for a perspex lens without the brake light u already save £50

Brian,

Mine went from this......

attachment.php?attachmentid=7893&stc=1

I removed the old spoiler and infill panel

Which left it looking like this, ie; all these holes....

attachment.php?attachmentid=7892&stc=1

Then took it to my bodyshop, and he changed it into this... (I put the perspex panel on)....

attachment.php?attachmentid=7891&stc=1

And he charged me £100, for all paints, materials and labour. I would assume that you haven't got all those holes in yours.

Anyway good luck with it..

HTH

EDIT** Brian, so is that yours in your rides section with all this work already done, but awaiting painting?

I had it done locally, I'm not sure how much they would quote they would probably have to see the car, it took them 5 days to do mine as they needed to reweld the tailgate back on.

Cheers guys.

Dave, that was during the respray when the oem spoiler was removed and the high level spoiler was added. So all the work was done back then.

I suppose if you wanted a proper job doin, the whole tailgate will need respraying?

Sideways300 - It may be a few weeks, but you've got first dibs. :)

Antf - Youve got seconds. :)

Cheers guys.

....

Yeah I had my boot lid done completeley, as he said it would be more cost effective. Afterall it'll already be covered up anyway, and the extra amount of paint is negligable, as is the extra time involved also.

And I must say it was well worth it, it looks a top job, I'm well happy with it.

Dave,

My car will be needing a spray job soon, I have my bodykit ready now.

Did you use someone in Grantham? If so, who?

Cheers mate. :)
