yer i know a little, what u need help with?

Nice 1 bud

Using good old front page XP, Have built a page and am trying to save it as a single web page. When I select save as Frontpage template, it only has the pics set to be saved as embedded files???. I have manually altered the HTML code to look for all images in the same folder. Every time i save it and run it on another pc, the folders/files cannot be found. When I run the page from the main PC from which is was written all works fine. As you can tell iam new to all this but I have to have this project complete by the morning.

Hi, Mrs Craig David here

I don't know Front Page but I know HTML. I'm not sure I can help but I can try

It sounds like the path to your images is incorrect. Have you uploaded your images and files to a web server?

Could you post your code in here?

here goes, when I run it on another machin the file locations appear to automaticle change to the incorrect target, mainly the pics and links

Code has been removed to protect the innocent

I think the problem might be that some of your images don't have fully qualified path names eg: button7.jpg means that button7.jpg needs to be in the same folder as the code - which presumably it's not - it's on another machine.

I usually work with web servers and i don't use front page so I'm not entirely sure what to do, but i would suggest that you see which images ARE working correctly and copy the path that you've used for those images to the images that aren't working.

Right the pics now work as I have done what you said and manualy copied them to the main_1 folder. I have also copied the path strings from the working code.

Only thing left now is when I click on an image which has a Hypertext link attached to it, the link destination is changing when it is copied to another machine. Is it normal for a HTML editor to autodiscover its own links if it cannot find the originals?

As craig david said make sure that you have all the image's source's pointing to correct location. AFAIK that should work correctly assuming you have the source code file held in the same folder as the images.

FrontPage has made a muck up of that code i can tell you that much lol! its all crazy :P

Sorry i cant help that much

Glad the images are sorted!

Sorry but I'm not sure about the HTML editor discovering it's own links, but it's not something I've heard of before.

I think it's more likely that your links are wrong, some of them look a little strange eg: is looking for a folder called pics rather than a file called pics - are you sure it shouldn't be linking to pics.html or something?

Hi, Mrs Craig David here

This is all Mrs Craig David making the posts on this thread (except this one).

I don't understand this even.

Is it to do with computers?
