Ok guyz.... Im just about to buy a mates car..... Hes settled on 7.5k.. Its a 1992 SWB TT T-Bar... Ive seen a lot of cars on here for around that price, so im not worried about the price to be honest... Im just keen on what you would pay for a car of the above spec, with the following mods...

Well, im sure ive overheard him talking about upgraded turbo's before, but on the spec list he's given me, theres no mention..... He's told me theres 120bhp Nitrous, but only advertised 60.. So unless it was old data, im not so sure.... I have been told theres been quite a bit spent on the engine, and he claims that including the nitrous it will run close on 12s down the 1/4 so its gotta have more under the bonnet than hes claiming in the ad, surely?

You really need to get a proper detailed full spec from him. If your going to buy a highly modified zed, you need to know the exact details of everything fitted.

 

Price also seems very good, considering the Mods.

 

P.s got any pics, sounds like a very sweet ride ! (also curious about the F40 bodykit?)

Appologies for the crappy quality.. He took them on his camera phone i believe.... I just know ull hate the spoiler.. But i think it quite suits it in a way.. Wheels will be the first thing to change.. So if anyones interested in some 2 month old 18s, then theyll be available in the next month...

Well Chunk will be comin down to pick up the Buckets, and theres a few local members to me.. So that wont be a problem.... I know he's looked after it, only 48k on the clock, hes only selling it because he's moving oop north.. Otherwise i think he'd have kept it.. .So i figured **** it, ill take my chances, otherwise id have lost the opportunity...

Thats a well known bodykit fitted (its not an F40 kit) Im sure somebody on here can tell you the name.

 

Personally, I'd remove that respoiler, and leave it with the already smoothed tailgate. Wheels are ok, If u dont like them Im sure somebody will snap them up quickly.

 

Is that paint speckly, or is it just dustry or waterdrops ?

At least if it does go wrong, you will be able to use the

As far as i can make out from the pics, Bomex side skirts, Greddy/scarab front end.

The wheels are deffo going.... Being replaced with some black 18" konigs i expect, chrome lip... Then maybe replace the rear spoiler with a carbon fibre one, as seen in Dec's issue'd c.fibred S2000? Unsure of yet.... Thats just rain drops on the paint.. As its still the standard Nissan black as far as im aware..... Any ideas on what sorta bhp those mods listed above would add onto the stock 300bhp?

Only the Exhaust, Filter and NOS would give any power increase on that list. I think about 20-30bhp extra, plus the NOS.

 

But with forged pistons and metal head hasket it must be running higher boost, and probably uprated turbo's.

Thats what i thought...... For it to be running close on 12s, its gotta be close on 450-500 bhp inc the 120 Nitrous surely?

But apparently hes still running standard boost, one thing i forgot to mention..... He always wante to preserve the turbo life.... Which is understandeable i guess

120 nitrous...thats a lot....surely thats going to do more damage to the car then uprated boost.

 

Kinda odd to tune a Twin Turbo if you stick Nos on it instead of more boost(the proper way).

Paul WFx, here is question that only you can answer. Did you REALLY want a 300ZX with this particular set of mods or are you just buying it cos its available.

Think carefully about the mods. The curent owner really wanted them cos he did them, but do you? How much value do you attach to them (over the price of a stock car)?

And remember sods law will operate when ever you utter the phrase "I hope it doesnt go wrong" as you have just posted.

The particular sub section of sods law that applies here is clause239B. paragraph 5a. Which says "if it can go wrong it will"......

Remember on 300Zx forum half the guys are broke due to their cars and the Traders(Bless them) are booked up for weeks repairing stuff that has failed due to sods law!

Just out of interest do you know which nitrous kit hes got fitted?

tbh, a 300ZX hasnt appealed as much to me since i saw the one in question... Id never really looked at them, because of insurance.. But after looking at quotes, i saw it wasnt totally impossible....

So of course when i found out a mate was selling his, ive thoguht about it on and off for a month or so, and thoguht bah, sod it... Ill go for it, hence this post lol....

I know its immaculate, im not sure what make of Nitrous kit is it, im not even totally sure if its 60 or 120 lol, but to be honest, it doesnt bother me.. The amount of times it'll be full is minimal anyway....

With the price on these the way they are, and the fact you dont like the wheels and spoiler, i would say no......

 

You can buy a clean Z much much cheaper than 7.5k, and still be well under that price after you get wheels you want and do the mods you decide on.

 

To me, not being funny mate, it doesnt jump out any more than another black z to warrant the amount of money

Your call at the end of the day bud! Don't be put off by the nay sayers - it looks like a sweet ride. '92 SWB is quite rare as well. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
