Hey guys,

Me and a few mates are planning a trip through France, Belgium and then through germany to the Nurburg ring for a few days. Im hoepfully going to be in a pickup to be able to take spare parts like tires, brake pads and oil for after the cars have been thrashed round the ring.

iv had a read on the RAC site to see what we will need to take with us when driving through Europe, but have any of you lot got any ideas on what we should be taking?

So far iv got:

Spare tires on steel rims

brake pads

oil

sump bung, engine flush and oil filter

fire extinguisher

warning triangle

trolly jack X2

insurance documents

driving liscense

passport

GB sticker or plates with stars on

foreign currency

road maps

maybe Sat nav with europe disk

radar detector

camping card

tell insurers and find out about breakdown assistance abroad

air pump for tires and other things :wack:

Windscreen washer

Beer - essential

Porn mags

jonnies

Anything else we would need?

Blimey!. I think you are far more organised than anyone on here ;)

sounds like you have a good road trip planned

but be careful with the radar detector in France, as i read somewhere its illegal to have one of these on show while driving along & you could face a fine!!!

I've been on the ring a few times and 'd suggest you take extra brake pads, coolant, fuel, oil and tools with you...these are a must.

be careful with a radar detector as these are a no-no in most european countries.

Just having a detector in your car (without even using it) can lead to huge fines, which usually needs to be paid in cash !!

Nope :D

Have a good trip :)

Good luck with your trip matey, sounds like you've got just about every scenario covered!

I've got a cracking vid of an R34 GTR V-Spec doing an entire lap of the ring. Fook me it's a quick motor aswell. ;)

Complete set of replacement bulbs

Plug leads and plugs

Replacement coil

Wiper Blades

There is an official list of things to make sure you have, cant find it.

Try the RAC website or something like that, should give you a comprehensive list.

First Aid kit.

Bog roll

Wet wipe thingies

TEA BAGS!!! - the Europeans have NO IDEA what a decent cup of tea is. They all use that piss weak Liptons shite!

You don't need to take smut mags with you....coals to Newcastle!

Enjoy a great trip!! The main roads accross Europe are AWSOME!!! Peddle to the metal on vast empty straight roads, and if there is something in front of you they get out of the way real quick! None of this "I've paid my road tax and I can drive at 50mph in the fast lane if I want" shit.

I wouldnt have thought i would need plugs, leads and a replacement coil.

i know the cars are going to get ragged around the track, but 1 of them is a mini one and the other 2 are 1.2 micras  were just using the idea of a long road trip, and a lap or 2 or the ring sounded like a good plan.

tea bags - Good idea, will include in the mini fridge full of beer!

Tools i was planning on taking i just forgot to put them on the list.

Coolent:s i dont want to have to be draining the whole coolent system on trolly jacks in the middle of a car park, if i get an air bubble in :nono:

Am having second thoughts about the radar detector now il look that up

Iv had a look on the RAC site and covered most things on there

Wiper blades we will replace before we leave.

Would anybody else be interested in meeting at the ring or having a huge convoy down there?

I could probably carry tools etc within reason in the Navara pickup.

Dan.

Didn't Wazza's car blow up on the way back from the ring? Or was it Le Mans?

>> Didn't Wazza's car blow up on the way back from the ring

he lost most of his coolant and blew up a headgasket on the ring...

Loving your Z's Eric in your vBgarage rides. Especially the blue one! Very nice indeed.

bog roll, kleenex, tyre inflator (manual), penknife with bottle opener, warm jacket/coat, waterbottle, tyre foam to avoid changin wheel in case of puncture, torch, dry cereal bars which last incase you can't stop 2 eat, handwipes

high viz jackets are required to be in the car in some european counties, germany ans spain to name a few. In germany you arent allowed to keep them in the boot either so whem u break down you dont have to go to the boot to get it, u put it on before u get out the car. Good idea but its health and saftey gone mad.

Depending on dates etc would anybody be interested in meeting at the Ring?

:headvswal can sell you a Kitchen sink for £25.00 don't want to go without it do you? :headvswal

lol, call it 20 and you got yourself a deal!

will have to sort you a second hand one then :nelson:

A Stainless steel one?

:ttiwwop:

THINK you got enough kit togo to the North pole :ttiwwop:

Definaltly the first aid kit and warning triangle are essentials, in germany and austria i think these are legals requirements, as well as insurance docs etc. In germany you may need to buy an A-Bahn pass, you get a funky sticker for your window, i kept mine!
