Ok just got back from kemble and we had an absolute blast. It was much better than trax and the guys were so friendly. Some nice cars, especially ferrari 355 driven by some loony, sideways everywhere

i managed to fail the Decible test, made 105db was 102db (told him in sad voice i had travelled all the way from S.A and was gutted) we redid the test and i made 102

 

All i can say is

Oh WOW what a day I loved it!!! I hope that film comes out ok warren - there wasn't much time at the end of the session where my tyres weren't sqealing (actually they're looking rather Fucked now ) Even catching on that crappy Ferrari thing towards the end was fun Would highly recommend this to EVERYONE for a great day out. Good price and grrrrreat fun

Hello to everyone who went to Kemble, and to those who missed it :P you missed a top day.

Sunshine, dry track, friendly people and good, clean racing (apart from those mad-for-it traffic cones that kept crashing into some of our number, hehe)

 

I spent every evening this week getting my Westfield working, new plugs, oil change, de-cobwebbed and de-snailed only to fail the noise test before unloading it from the trailer. D'Oh

(it was only 120 decibels for christs sake. The limit was 103dB and as 3dB=double the volume of the sound, so that's only 5 times as loud as the other cars. Statistics say 120dB is only the same as standing next to a jet engine, and they were allowed to use the runway, so why wasn't I? Gits)

 

So I had to use the Z, no oil change since Henry the Eighth was ruling the land and brand spanking new S03s on the rear (they were FAB by the way, probably below the legal limit now LOL)

 

Anyway, the Zeds put on a impressive display (especially on a circuit as tight as a gnat's chuff) and I was well pleased when I overtook the Lotus Esprit Turbo (my schoolboy dream, no, not the one about

Claire Grogan and the chocolate spread, that was another night)

 

Good to meet some of you guys at last

Have to agree with everyone else, it was a SUPERB day. Completely different atmosphere compared to Trax (much nicer and more friendly). Even the drivers briefing was fun. The look on everyones faces when the instructor said "Oversteer - we LIKE oversteer" was priceless, especially after the strict Trax guys.

 

The in-car instruction was excellent too, they were genuinely interested in helping you get the most out of the car and to also go sideways in as many corners as possible

 

Well worth it, I'm up for it ANY TIME. Just gotta get better brakes for next time, the smoke pouring out of them, and the soft pedal was more than a little disconcerting
