quite an interesting report. perhaps this paragraph might explain the long-asked question about the horsepower (ie 280 or 300):

"One thing to note: The 1996 model dropped the variable valve timing due to smog regulations.

According to Steve Mitchell, who's worked with Nissan for 15 years, OBDII required the car's computer to not only monitor the fact the variable cam timing had changed, the regulations also required the ECU to monitor the exact position of the camshaft in adjustment range. The cost to update the ECU and add the sensors to the engine was too high for the final year of production. While officially the horsepower still hovered at the 300 mark, Nissan enthusiasts acknowledge the unofficial level was more like 280 hp."

...and of course the obligatory 0-60 time is now 5.0

Bodywork for the twin-turbo, which was only available as a two-seater, was essentially the same as the normally aspirated Z, which was available as a two-seater and a 2+2

*****x! just found out my car must be a turbo conversion :smash:

LOL Yeah and since when did any of the Z's have actuators on the front suspension to adjust the ride height/firmness?? Must admit, that's a new one on me!

US cars did have front adjustable shocks ;)

Did they? OK let them off then!

wasnt it the UK cars where you could firm up the sus (with a click of the handbrake?)

UKs had adjustable rears only, automatically controlled with the handbrake trick as a test (which iv just removed ;) :D)

US had adjustable all round with a switch inside as well for activating them

automatically controlled with the handbrake (which iv just removed ;) :D)

How are you going to park on hills now? ;)
