I'm fed up with having to climb down the back of the sofa to retrive one of the 5 remotes, only to find it wasn't down there at all, it had fallen behind the blah blah, etc. :headvswal

 

I keep seeing the Kameleon one (see here http://www.kelkoo.co.uk/sitesearch/go.jsp?offerId=449401100138013uk449401-Firebox-Kameleon+Remote+Control&orw ) but are there any better ones?

 

And with these touch-sensitive screen things like the Kameleon, what's the reliability like??

Mark I've got one of those, it's excellent. Mine was about 70 squids from Currys though.

Ive got a slightly older 6 for 1 which is excellent, never replaced the batteries on it at all and used it to make my DVD multi reigon!!!! (as per some dodgy instructions I found on the net!)

I have the kameleon second generations, paid 40quid for it on ebay, it got rid of 4 remotes for me and everything works perfectly.

I've got the 6 in 1, and coz its shock sensative the bass from the seround sound sets it off so it eats batteries, still good. you can use code self learn or program it off the net by sounds, abit like an old specrum when you loads a game "deerr dit derr dillll" :rolleyes:

I was a little worried about the battery life. What does it take? A couple of AAs?

it takes AA's the 2nd generation doesnt have the same problems with activation, it only activates when you touch it.

wonder if i can disable the tilt switch as it drives me nuts

yuh you can, you have to open up the remote and clip the sensor

Press and hold the MAGIC key until the rabbit comes out of the hat (I think the designer was on acid) then press 9 8 9. If the IR indicator blinks 4 times the tilt switch is off, 2 times it's on. Once it is off you have to press the screen to switch it on.

So it seems like a good controller to go for- Cheers for the help chaps!
