EVC/EBC

You are all gonna ban me from this place i swear!!

anyways, got hold of my Fuel Cut Defencer, HKS Electronic Boost Control/Valve Control and HKS Air/Fuel Regulator all courtesy of Johnny (PS Thanks)

Anyone fitted the EBC/EVC? Just needed to know which wires to unplug to disconnect the stock boost solenoids on either side? had a look on TT Net techs but the pics aint brilliant. and the 02 sensor has a similar wiring clip i think.

does anyone know how many wires the stock boost controller has? is it 2?

Thanks

Oh and does anyone have any knowledge on how to fit the AFR? all the instructions are in jap so i'm a bit fu**ed!!!

Latz

cool good luck ring us if you have hassles.

hey 300z

thanks for the offer but am having hassles already!! the online manuals are talking about feeds too and from air flow meter, etc etc where do i find this out?

Thanks

OK. First off a pic of the ecu connector:-

ecuconnector.gif

The connections you want are -

Black - pin 60 (black wire)

Red - pin 59 (white wire)

Cut the wire from pin 27 (white wire) (white of afr to harness side, yellow of afr to ecu side)

Brown - pin 7 (yellow/red wire)

Orange - pin 38 (orange wire)

The connector picture is as you look at it from the ecu side I think (the connector is the one on the right). Hope you have fun wink.gif

Do you know about the rest of the setup as you first turn the unit on???

CheerZ,

Andy

Thanks duffo!!! really saved me a lot of time and ECU's!! i take it that the one with the big black box round it is the ECU? dont have a clue about setting it up yet but figured i'll try and get it up to johnny and have his boys look over it for the setup and above all else it'll give me a good excuse to meet up with you's!!!!!

and duffo you know how you're my m8 an all....... would you happen to know what connector numbers the FCD fit too? i take it the live and earth on the FCD can come from anywhere? its just the yellow and white wires.

Oh and one more thing? please???? the FCD and AFR and EVC - does it matter if they have key lives or perm lives? i'm sure the EVC and FCD will be fine on Key but what about the AFR?

All keyed lives - if you take those connections off the ecu for the red and black I *think* they are the supply to the ecu which is switched - check with a dvm though wink.gif FCD not too sure but the hks european site should help you wink.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

If you need any of the ecu connections give me a shout and I can find em for ya.....

thanks m8. really appreciate all your help. might have to post on this thread again 2moz night if i dont get any joy. Wish me luck!!!

Hey duffo or anyone else!!

Thanks for all the info. its been great i now have the EVC installed and have found a great place for the solenoid if anyone is interested!!!!

Anyways, duffo or anyone else who can help, the wiring that you gave me above of how to connect the AFR up is perfectly fine but one question, do i cut the wires going to the ECU and reroute them to the AFR or do i just connect the wires on the AFR and the ECU together??

Thanks

OK - the only wire to cut is the one from pin 27, where the yellow lead from the afr goes to the ecu and the white lead from the afr going to the harness side...

All the other leads are joined with the current leads... DO NOT CUT any other lead apart from the white wire coming from pin 27.

Hope this makes sense...

CheerZ,

Andy

thanks m8! once again you have saved my life.

The Fuel Cut Defencer needs a pressure sensor or airflow signal wire. i take it on ours we have a air flow/mass meter? do you know which pin this is? i'm on a shitty laptop at the moment and the online manual is making no sense on this poxy crap screen.

once again, do you know if the FCD wires are to be attached either side of this or on two seperate wires?

i'm really taking the piss now but what would the dip switch setup be on the back of the super AFR? do you have the HKS one?

Thanks duffo, oh BTW where abouts do you live? 300z (warren) seems to think you might be near me? might have to meet up and got out for a beer cause i owe you a few!!

I live in a village called croston near preston m8 - if you're anywhere near here I could give you a hand fitting etc wink.gif Pub also sounds like a grrrrrrrrreat idea biggrin.gif

Anyway, the fcd - not too sure - I'll do some searching for you though and find out if its a cut or splice job. I have the HKS super AFR. If you use the supplied bullet connectors when you cut the white from pin 27, you can join the lead back up if you want to remove the AFR later wink.gif This lead from pin 27 is the airflow meter wire for the FCD too wink.gif

As far as dip switches go, do you have my number??? This could do with a chat instead of text wink.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

i think i do matey. the home no. right? the one starting 01772? i got that one. is it ok to call you? sorry and thanks for this. if thats not the right number email me the right one if you can and i'll give you a shout. cheers mate!
