Sad news.

The Avon and Somerset safety camera partnership will be operating 24hrs a day from Monday 10th Jan.

Obviously they're going to be alot more difficult to spot at night so be warned everyone form this area!

I thought they were supposed to be a visible deterrent to speeding - yeah right!!

Do other countys operate at night yet or are we the first here in Somerset?

I think Somerset and Avon have lost the plot over speed & road safety anyway.

 

On a weekend break near Glastonbury last year I have never seen so many pointless 20mph zones and extended 30mph limits running way way past town boudaries. Loads of "squeeze" restrictions too, plus several roads where there had previously been national speed limit reduced to 50 or even 40mph.

 

It was worse than my parent's area on London - especially considering the traffic volume in Somerset compared to East London :confused:

When i went to plymouth could not belive how many speed camera's there was think on one road there was 10!! :headvswal must be one dangers road!!

 

We got round are way signs that show you speed say you in a 40mph and you doing 42mph it flash up you speed in big red numbers! You should see how many people hit the brakes!! Just makes for some nice and smooth driving NOT :headvswal
