Can anyone confirm what has happened to Grasshopper Pro Sport. They have disappeared from the traders forum, and Johnny has his phone permanently off!!!

I heard a rumour, but need to confirm as the clutch they fitted to my car is knackered!!!

The rumour you heard is indeed correct :( BIG Shame :(

That is a real shame (not just because of my predicament either). Johnny is a really nice fella when you can get hold of him (although thats kind of explained by this sad news!!).

Any advice on what I do with the clutch??? They fitted it last November (think it is an RPS clutch and Ferdanza fly), it never felt right as it judders quite badly in first and reverse. Higher gears not too bad as gear changes are shorter etc. They said that it needed to be run in. The car has only done about 1000 miles in the 14 months since, but has got worse if anything. Its only now that it is back on the road and I could take it down to them.

Obviously I am going to have to pay someone to take it out and check it is the clutch thats bad and not the fitting. If it is defected am I likely to be able to replace it or am I going to have to shell out yet more moula???

I can honestly say that after the sh1t I've over the last 14 months, I'm ready to get rid of the damn thing!!! :(

Cheers

Rich

Rich, I'll be seeing Johnny tonight - I'll have a word see what I can do for you ;)

Nice one mate would appreciate it. Even if there is nothing he can do, access to his supplier details and a receipt/invoice would help so we can get it replaced if necessary. Thanks mate. :)

Rich

Sorry to hear about your trouble Rich, chin up mate and I'm sure you'll get it sorted.

Would also like to say that I'm very sorry to see that Ginger Bo110x has packed it all in, I know that it wasn't easy for him from the start of the big adventure and reckon that if he hadn't been stitched up by a few people he would have done alot better! Am truly gutted for the guy, Johnny is and always will be a very genuine and extremely well liked person and held with high regard amongst all of us.

Sorry to hear about this Rich. Unfortunatly I feel that even if you had a receipt for the clutch, which I doubt you have. Then the company would most likely just declare that the fault is all down to incorrect fitting. So the fact that GPS has gone I'm afraid leaves you with no come back. A concern that I have as well, and think he should have been insured for such an event. (ie proffesionaly indemnity ) If so, even if he's gone bump, any work done durring that period should be covered for .

I'd also speak to the Office of fair Trading as there maybe a government fund for these kind of circumstances, as there is with regard to being a victim of a none insured driver.

I blame the government!! not enough support for the small companies blah blah blah

bad luck jonny you had a good outfit,

whatever happened to the estimated 1000bhp blue poopra?

Also sorry to see you go Jonathon ! :(

Certain people have a lot to answer for !

Good luck with whatever you do next mate !

Shame to see him go, hopefully he will come back and operate on a smaller scale perhaps, seemed to work before to good effect :)

Rich, Johnny very rarely used RPS it was mostly ACT, if it turns out for some reason yours is knackered for what ever reason, in my small way of trying to ease the problem, i will do yer the RPS sport street kit at rock bottom trade price for yer if yer stuck.

Good luck Johnny if yer reading this thread. ;)

cheers

Thanks for your posts guys!!! The support in this place never ceases to amaze!

Johnny - if you are reading this, sounds like you will be well missed mate. Must be a way you can pick up the pieces!!!

a very sad day indeed..............dont think ive ever had as much fun at meets and duffers b.b.q with any other person...........you cant kep a guy like the ginger meister down for long though and im sure he will be back in action in another guise

Ok Guys spoke saw the ginger one last night :) He asked me to say thanks to all for your comments, so I have :)

Rich, if the clutch is over 12 months old there's not a lot that can be done anyway. Even if it was younger the chances of getting anything done about it would be minimal. However, I'll be in touch via PM soon to see if we can sort something out to get you back up and running ASAP ;) Same goes for anyone else who had work done there - I'll do my best to sort any problems (if any at all ;)).

CheerZ,

Andy
