ZX Handling

Id be interested in any comments you guys have about how well or poor the Z handles in the wet, dry,or on frosty roads and how

confident you feel with the cars handling at speed

Any Comments?

Dry, Superb

Wet, Heheh, fun. You cant accelerate hard due to lots of wheel spin, and the back end tends to kick out IF you are not use to it.

I am very confident with the cars handling at high speed.

Some people have installed traction control which will help you, giving you the ability to put your foot down hard while going round corners.

Superb in the dry.....very interesting in the wet...especially without traction control!!!

Just leave it in the garage at any hint of snow!!!

Regardz

power still slightly worries me...

likes to spin out at the slightest hint of rain - hopefully resolved by forthcoming TC

only had z a month or so, still getting used to it - will push it more when TC fitted

(previously had beamers so used to back end going out!)

with proper tyres wet or dry you can drive safely but if your a dick like me and enjoy facing the opposite way to which you start then get an auto because without a doubt an auto has an uncanny knack of doing them circular things called doughnuts......high speed motorway cruising is what a z was made for imho they eat up the miles on a motorway and i find they use less petrol at higher speeds than round town

Submarine and to all!

Is it really that bad in the snow. I know they can be very well behaved in the rain below 3K revs but is it that unpredictable.

I'm in trouble if it is because I travel 23 miles each way to work every day.

Hi,

Had mine for years, driven it in snow a few times as it's my only car too. Just drive slow on the snow. Never lost it (there is always a first time), and since I had the traction, not even slightly.

Jez.

Once I had some decent tyres on mine (i.e. not half bald, wrong size, cracked ones!), I thought the handling was fantastic.. Great in the dry round the twisties.. Even felt safe in the wet..

Oh apart from when I hit an oil slick turning into my own road! That was interesting biggrin.gif And fun.. But then I'm just a hooligan..

Motorways were fantastic, sit at 100 and you feel like you're doing 50...

I'll tell you the Z handles 10x better than my 98 toyota camry, mind you it has front wheel drive and understeer like a mad man, even with the knowledge of rwd and oversteer, still impressed the hell out of me

dry is great, wet gets wierd cause too much power to the wheels hard to launch without peeling out smile.gif

but no complaints there wink.gif

Not to Hijack the thread or anything, but what are your experiences with tyres? which did you find to be the best wet weather tyre? (have to buy new tyres soon...)

cheers,

Brian

I had Khumo on the rear, which are very hard wearing. I now have Bridgestone SO2s. The SO2s grip better in the wet than the Khumo in the dry. The SO2s suprise me on how grippy, if that is a word, they are in the wet.

Well after the day we've had today at Kemble, the 300 handles bloody fantastic biggrin.gif I can show you a picture of my tyres if you want wink.gif They are seriously messed up now biggrin.gif But cancelled out by the massive grin on my face... just like this.. biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

I've got some Dunlop SP's on mine, had some scarey moments with it until the rear shocks were replaced. Car was crabbing big time over even the slightest bump in the road.

Some suggested HICAS but after getting my car back recently it's handling GREAT! wink.gif

Z's eat corners like no other car I've been in, even my Mrs. commented on it today! Got to be a bonus! biggrin.gif
