No not the ZX - we all know it has a healthy apetite for Shell's Finest! :p

We took the Rav-4 down to Cornwall this time, for a change. On the 254 mile journey down (starting with a full tank) I had to re-fuel at Oakhampton after only 210 miles

Granted, I was doing a steady 90-95 mph :nono: all the way but I could still only achieve 21 mpg - I get 24+ mpg on the same journey at the same speed in the ZX FFS :mac1:

Could have been dodgy petrol I suppose as it redeemed itself with subsequent averages of 30 and 27 mpg. Otherwise it may be more downhill on the way home........ ;)

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Is the CHAV-4 permy 4wd?? That would defo account for the sh1te fuel consumption. ;)

It's probably way less aerodynamic than the Z which won't help at fast, steady speeds,

Heh heh - true, it's a breeze-block with wheels

Plus I'd forgotten how some cars behave (badly) in cross-winds when driving above 90mph - The ZX remains rock steady and stability even seems to improve the faster I go........

A fraction better than 25 mpg I think (based on 83 p per litre)

Cheers m8...

Thats better than i thought....

Mind you i probably waste some GoGo Juice getting to a garage that actually sells decent fuel...Why o why r their so few 97ron petrol stations about these days...

Probably coz car manufacturers are too buisy making under-powered bubble cars that run on cooking oil :xxx:

Well, a mate of mine has an MG ZT (the big, Rover 75 one), which is a 2.5l V6 developing 190bhp, and he only gets an estimated 19mpg. We worked mine out (twin turbo) to an average of 21.3mpg yesterday - he was GUTTED!!!

Better looking, faster AND more economical than his - LOL!!!

And now they do the big RWD V8 version - Yank engine IIRC 4.something litres? but only 260bhp - they are a bit slow too ;)
