The problem I have had over the festive period is. On cold start up a little bit of smoke has been coming out of the pipes, but once on my way the smoke dissapears. Thought it might have been a blown oil seal on one or both of the turbos, problem is boost goes to full positive when booting and at warm idle stays just above the minus 7. Also noticed some oil spatters on my garage door when it has been warmed, could it be head gasget or anything like that?

what colour is the smoke?

I'm gonna have a dip and say PCV's need replacing.

yup, do you get smoke on overrun?

Sorry guys, the smoke is a light grey/white, thought it was water vapour on cold mornings to begin with.

 

Only get smoke on start up once warm it dissapears, but still stinks of burned oil smell when I get out after a blast.

 

Whats PCV's and are they expensive to replace?

What are PVC's?

Positive Crankcase Ventilation - aka breather hoses and valves. Cost ~£70 for 2 replacement valves and 4 hoses - there is a 5th hose at the rear passenger side but thats a PITA to replace and TBH never causes a problem anyway ;)

not worth buying 2nd hand IMO. speak to Mike Feeney @ MJP in our traders area
