Is yours a jap spec?

If it is then if you want the same tint it will cost a fortune

£1k+!! The uk models have a different tint and are reasonably

priced. Does your insurance cover the screen? Some do, some don't.

From what i've read, the uk screen will fit in a jap & vice versa.

3rd party no cover import

Oh dear...not good!

Don't bother with the big national companies for a price,

go to a small local specialist instead, the big companies

charge silly money because they do all the insurance work

and rip off the insurance companies.

EG: National comp wanted £200+ for a clear screen in a vectra!

Local comp.....£72 all in incl vat!!

Think the screens in a z are bonded in, so not much chance

of a 2nd hand one either.

got a reply from auto windscreens and they want £1200 so i told them to fook off

waiting for another reply now once fixed might get rid just had enough :(

if our careful you can cut out screens without any problems & reuse them, so you may be able to get a 2nd hand one.

non genuine screens for cars like ours tend to cost more than OEM parts :(

once fixed might get rid just had enough :(

How many posts have i read that in lately :(

Don't do it greg! Wait till the summer comes...roof off etc..

you'll wonder why you ever said it!

£200 fitted for my car, it was uk but they could get a brown tint they told me, that included the clips to fit and the bloke to drive to me,

he actually thought 200 was expensive so don't act surprised when he offers you that prices ;)

hope that helps, it was the cheapest i could find new glass for

when your down with these cars its crap

when your happy with them there great and wouldent change for the world

Greg,

Windscreens are highly discountable items ( bit like sofa`s) there is a definate price cartel in the UK concerning glass fitting to cars.

Trade prices are amazingly small, having asked a local windscreen company to remove a good used jap spec screen form a breaker and refit to another car they charged around £100 and later called to say they could supply brand new (brown tint ) screens for Jap spec zeds for less than £200 if I ordered a minimum of 10! bit different to £1k prices quoted elsehere.
