Well had a great Christmas and was driving home yesterday from my Parents place, and lo and behold the new h/g blew and it sounds like it has started to take a crankshaft bearing too!!!!!!

rang the garage this morning and was asked if i had kept the water level up!!!! -no i thought i would see if i could have an air cooled zed!!!! FFs ! :slap:

long and the short of it is they are picking up the car on tuesday so we will see how they try to squirm out of it being their fault -cant see how they can as it was only done at end of August!!

ho hum back to begging and borrowing lifts and cars now

will keep ya posted

A thoroughly miserable Speedy - thinking of changing my nickname to Jinx!!

Oh dear:( Is this the second time the head gasket has failed?

Bad luck on the head gasket mate :( :( :(

Not sure how h/g and crankshaft bearing faliure can be linked though??

Unlucky Liam. Can you not insist they take it to

a z specialist to be repaired....ie: Ryan.

They obviously didn't do the job right in the 1st place. :(

SSBob -they are supposed to be z specialists and I have to give them the chance to correct their fvck up really!!!!!!!!

dunk- meant bottom end bearings sorry!!

Mac - yes !!

Jock - They better had !! otherwise I will be formally demanding that they cough up and Ryan can do it properly....

pisses me off tbh because Ryan would have done the hg in the first place but I was under the impression that I was covered by warranty so got a local garage(supposedly z specialists) to do it as Ztech wasnt official then... got it into the garage and then was informed by the warranty company that I was only covered for 250squid!!!!!!!!

bit of a nightmare tbh in the last 6 months have spent about 3500-4000 on Head gasket (which has now failed again!!) new gearbox, heater matrix, tyres (toyo T1-S Proxes do not suit Zeds, lasted 3 months) bodywork etc.

....

IMO a 2nd head gasket failure is not bad luck, there is a reason for it and that's what needs to be tracked down, especially if it's in the same place.

Can I ask who done the work?

Vijay

david blunkett it sounds like

liam, dude, join the club.... mines gone as well... so ryan is kindly pretty much rebuiling the top alf of my engine and fitting new down pipes and decats

It sux not having a zed!!!!!

yup - was the cyl heads checked for distortion/resurfaced?

gutted for you liam

hope you get it sorted mate

Paul according to the garage that did the work the heads were warped so they skimmed them , due to the fact they have done this once already they do not have this option again , they will have to get replacement heads as it is you only have a very small amount to play around with when skimming the heads

What are the symptoms? HG failure isn't exactly common on Zeds....

Good luck M8
