Any ideas what it might be???

Just had a 10 minute razz up with my sister in her scoob. After a few traffic light launches, my car just lost all of its go. It seems like its pulling away in second gear. Cant say if its in safty boost as my guage packed up just before christmas. This is my first problem in just over a year of ownership so i hope its nothing to serious. Any help would be great ( things i could check for myself) before i have to start laying down large pieces pf paper with 50 printed on them!!!

Is the hose for the turbo gauge still in?

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120

Look at the picture here on the link above. Number 23 is where the turbo hose should plug in. See if it is still in.

Also can you do a ECU diagnostics?

Instructions are found here.

http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=48&design=default&total=190

Use the arrows at the top of the page to navigate. Or press on the picture to go to the next page.

Basically take up the carpet in the footwell floor of the front passenger seat.

Unscrew the wooden panel. At the top of the left hand side of the ECU is a little screw. Screw it anti clockwise for, wait 2 secs and then screw it back. The engine check light will flash long flashes and then short flashes, before a few seconds gap and then it starts again.

The long flashes are tens and short are units. So if you get 5 long ones and then 5 short, its a code 55. One long flash and then 3 short is 13.

Do that and then get back to us with your findings.

i new i'd read it somewhere :hyper:

When the fail-safe operation occurs, the next time the key is turned "ON position, the AT check light will blink for approximatly 8 seconds after coming on for 2 seconds. While the car can still driven under these circumstances please note that the gear's in the automatic trans will be locked in thrid gear.

If the car is driven under extreme condtions, such as excessive wheel spining and subsequent hard braking, the fail safe system may be activated. This will occur even if all electrical ciruits are functioning properly. in this case turn the ignition key "OFF WAIT FOR 3 SECONDS THEN BACK ON" The car should return to normal oprating condition.

taken for the nissan hand book.

the bit in red sound farmiliar eh :x:
