Radiator Prob

Hi guys, got a slight leak from top of rad right by the hoses went to top up and found a brown sludgy mess in the filler hole. also went to top up expansion tank and got wet feet the pipe goes nowhere it stops just before the hole in the side of the engine bay???? could someone give us a clue on jap spec rads (autos)will i need to get the auto cooler conversion done if not already done

    Brown sludge is not always a problem. However, if it looks like mayonaise then you probably have a failing head gasket ! Don't worry too much about the expansion tank for the moment. Probably worth reverse flushing the cooling system and checking the radiator cap is sealing properly though.
