Advice please

Just had a local garage fit some rear tires.

Had a look at the car yesterday and they've damaged the rim on one alloy quite badly and it will need refurbishing. They said the old tyre wouldn't come off and that's why it happened.

I've not yet paid for the work or picked up the car, so where do I stand?

Personally I think they should have called me when the tyre wouldn't come off so I could accept the risk of the alloy being damaged or taken it somewhere else to be done....

If they damaged it then they should fix it!!

if you need it doing then give me a shout mate & ill arrange it :)

chances are they will get to get it repaired your self then give them the recipt

Defo get them to pay for it if they have admitted liability!!! If you have low profiles on they have to be changed with a special machine, not the normal quick fit jobs!!! Proper machine should never scuff the wheel!!! He's prob stuck a crow bar round to get tyre off!!! Any idiot that does that should pay for the refurb!!!!

Have seen an occassion when a tyre fitter forgot to take the clip on balance weights off and as the wheel rotated for tyre removal the weight was pushed all the way around the rim...very nasty....even worse it was on my Sierra Cosworth ( long time ago) they ended up giving me the tyre for free.
