so ive followed those instructions...had it lookin pretty good actually..im a dab hand at the soldering lark..plugged it in..it worked for a bit..now it works even more infrequently..is a common problem for these to just not switch on at all and then sometimes switch on and be fine? I just wondering what the resistor thing fixed or whether mines related to something else?

I've fixed dozens of these and it's never once been the resistor (except when someone else has f*cked it up first). Search my old posts.
