As some of you know I've got a dent in the left rear quarter just in front of the rear wheel.

As my Z is off the road (caliper repair) can anyone give me any pointers on removing the trim so I can gain access to the back of the panel if possible.

Thanks,

Trev.

when are you doing it ? tonight ?

i might be able to drop in and give you a hand, if you will still be doing it at about 8pm.

Else, take off the sill trim, take off the upright part of the back seat, and the screws/nuts are reachable at the edge of the bottom part of the seat.

Thanks for the offer Craig, but I'll be doing the work over the weekend in daylight(pop round if your about)! Cause I spent an hour on sunday night looking for the wire clip that goes on the calipers that went AWOL!! I'll be home after 8pm tonight, so if your in the area give me a call on the mobile.

About the wheels Tooley, they came on the car when I got it from japan. They are a jap make like AVAS, AVEUS or something like that!!! I'll find out the name for you on Sat when I take em off to re-paint the calipers. They are 17" and look small with std springs. What size are u going for?

i will go for 17 or 18 as mine has been lowered and i dont have to fill the arch that much anyway my main concern is getting a dished rim. they looked a bit like the racing hart ones but they are very much like the ones im after

i dont mean 2 pry but r u a panel beater and r u going 2 silver spoon the dent out with a dolly and a flipper.because i wouldnt recomend useing 1 of those mobile dent remover blokes as there shite they normal strech the outre skin, leave high spots etc and then u will have 2 heat the repaired aera and try and shrink the metal and then metal finish it. i hope ive not offended any 1 only offering help

No probs Lowrider thanks for the info. I want to take the trim off just to assess the damage (plus it will give me something to do while I wait for the caliper paint to dry!). I'm no panel beater so I wont be out there with a hammer and a bit of wood banging away blindly! :)

By the way, do you work for a bodyshop or something?

Laterz

Trev.
