I thought I'd put a new stereo in, so I bought a JVC unit and CD changer. The guy installing it can't get the radio to work as 'you need a new coax from the back aerial to the radio'!!!

I think he needs some help. Is there anything I need to know about wiring in the radio / aerial section.

He has also managed to blow the headlights fuse.

Sounds like a bit of a :xxx: to me, if he doesn't know this one ;) It's an adaptor that the 'Old' style plug will plug into and then will plug into your new head unit. Most car accessory shops will do these, including Halfords. But saying that, most new head units come with these in the box!!

Anyway HTH :D

Oh it'll set you back less than a fiver ;)

Thanks guys...much appreciated

I thought the connector in the car's loom was the "2-pronged" type not just a different size

It was in my UK spec car - looked like a much smaller version of the continental mains electric plugs

We fixed mine by cutting the $!£!%!£$^^^ thing off and using the new type plug...cost 1.99

i thought the standard radio in a uk car was a diversity reciever and was connected to 2 ariels, the electric one at the back and another internal one, picking the best signal
