What i would like to know and it seems a general answer is Yes there is a difference but until i know i cant buy another set of UK clocks.....

I bought a set of UK clocks which took a while to find. Went to fit them today:D only to find that the the box connections on the back of the Uk clocks are different to the Jap clocks  Which slightly P!ssed me off after taking the dash part.

What i would like to know is are there differeces between a series 1 and a series 2 clocks ??

Mine is a 2 and has

a 3+3 conect and a 3+2 conect.

The UK clocks i have bought has a 3+3 conect and a 2+2 conect.

So does anyone have a set of series 2 UK clocks and before you all start i KNOW that they are rare as rocking horse DODO......

If you take the guages out of the UK cluster and put them in your Jspec cluster they will work to UK standard and this will resolve the wiring differences, I think its been discussed before and the difference is just series I and II.

I know this bud,....;) Thats not the prob my speedo not been working hence changing to UK ones as i want to get rid of the KMH to MPH convertor.

Cheers for your reply any way :D

  Come on guys, 1 of you lot must know if there is a difference between series 1 and 2 clocks and if it is the connections.........

I fiited a set of series II clocks to my car which is a series I and the only difference I saw was the 2 connections on the back.

How did you get them to fit bud....3+3 dont go into a 2+2 socket  or did you have them soldered..??

No, like I said in the earlier post I took each individual guage out of the new UK series II cluster and put them into my old series I cluster so making the connections on the back the same as origional, no need to change the wiring and all works as it should to UK spec, ie it now reads miles on the odometer and MPH on the speedo with no converter.

Dont confuse Matt, he's very old you know!! :D

I can hear the phone conversation already.........

Matt "Chunk, this bloke on the forum says.................."

Chunk "FFS"

LMAO

This dial-swapping business is not always possible.

I have a '94 J-spec and the dials are totally different to a '91 J-spec.

It is physically impossible to swap dials. The screws to actually hold the dials in are different, let alone the connectors.

I did the same as SuffolkZX and just swapped the dials over from the UK series 2 cluster into my J spec series 1 cluster.

That does mean that I have a UK series 2 cluster with my old J spec dials in that you could buy, if you like. I'm not sure it's going to help you much though. ;)

Graham,

Cheers bud for those pics,

The connections on the top right side are the ones i have been on about, the 3+3 and the 3+2 on the bottom pic. Thats what i have got on the UK clocks i have been sent. However my connections on my Jap spec are 3+3 and 2+2 so i need to know if there is a Uk set of clocks with 3+3 and 2+2 connections and if there is ? are they off a series 2...

Foook me got there in the end  oooooh by the way CHUNK you gonna get a :slap: mate for taking the p!ss.....:mac1:

This is the series-1 ('91 J-spec), IIRC.
