How much do you think I could sell me Zed for? It's a J spec TT auto, K reg. It was imported in 1999 and has full service history since then. It's done 62,000 miles.

 

It was completely standard until it had an oil leak and lost it's oil, doing damage to the crankshaft. Hence it was rebuilt only 3000 miles ago. The rebuild was done by a Jap performance specialist in Kingston, S & M motors which included: New oil pump, new water pump, new piston rings, all gaskets replaced, new fuel lines, new crankshaft and bearings and anything else that was worth doing while the engine was out.

 

I also got brand new Garratt T25 hybrids with 360 degree bearings fitted (from Universal Turbos).

 

In addition to the engine work, I also fitted a Trust/Greddy stainless steel exhaust (with large single exit each side) including cat repalcements, downpipes, mid sections... basically the whole exhaust from the turbos back(bought from Jaffa). I have also fitted a Greddy Turbo Timer and a Apexi Induction Kit.

 

Total cost of the rebuild and parts above is about £5k (courtesy of a remortgage!), but now all the expensive parts have been replaced so it shouldn't have any mahjor costs for years to come if it's looked after.

 

It's all set-up ready for anyone who wants a car with a good engine, and the breathing free flowing, that's ready to have the boost upped and some more power put through it... all it would take would be boost controller (or jets) and chip and you'll be able to get an extra 50-100bhp (depending on what boost you want to run the new turbos at) easily.

 

It's running beautifully, but I've decided to sell and get something more economical and fun (an Elise). How much is it worth?

my modded k reg one ( and it was a guddun) went for £3750 in the end.

 

I dont think i even got back what id spent on it, i paid 7.5k for it 3 years earlier, if id set fire to the 7.5 grand 3 years ago i be in the same financial position. Infact id be better off, just think of all that optimax :cry: cry:

We've all got to accept that if we spend any money either fixing, or modding cars that we aren't going to get it back when we sell. It would be nice to get more than 4k for mine though as it's just had the engine rebuilt! Anyone want it.... no....... a n y o n e ??????

Regdorp, ive seen a few 300's go for 6-7 grand recently that aren't anything special. I reckon its just down to good advertising and a bit patience. I would imagine yours could go for 5k no bother

Scottywill - wow a positive repsonse, encouraging!!! Well I just put a deposit down on an Elise, so the Z is definitely going. I'll take 5,250k for it.

:bow: I paid 6K for mine (20,000 miles) K plate. Mods it has: Chrome dust caps, Zed Key ring & Silver Zed tax holder :bow:

I would put it on sale for £8,000
