picked up my first zed on wednesday, and I have got to say I am really pleased I didnt get the TT (yet) they should come out of the factory with crash mats on the side of them !! only been in it three times and the back end went every time, have to be very carefull in the wet I think, never had a car with an engine that sounds like this. wot a fantastic sound, and to think I nearly bought an MR2 !! the best part though, is that nobody knows what the **** it is !! they just stare anyway,

unfortunatley the car has to go back to the garage as it haas got a nasty vibration when you hit 40 mph and the whole car shakes till well over a ton, any Ideas anyone? it had a shudder when I first test drove it, but the garage installed a new propshaft bearing (so they say!) and that solved that problem, but still got the shakes !!

And wot the hell is up with the headlights !! are they all shite or is it just mine ? might as well strap a couple of candles on the bumper for the good they do !!

Also I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome I got when joining the club, and look forward to chatting with you all...

ok first welcome :)

vibration if not when brakes applied! may well be tension arm bushes not a big job! or prop shaft bearing if they say they have changed it!have they proved it

or check tyre pressures can play a big part in the handling/road noise of the z

headlights are not the best thing on the z but can be upgraded via a wire trick and a h4 bulb which i did,or a HID upgrade at about £190

HTH greg ;)

happy zed ing

im suprised your loosing the back end so much, either your over heavy on the accelerator pulling away or your tyres arnt upto the job. is it a new import as if it is id say its still got jap rubber and that bad in the wet.

If i throw my Z into a corner to hard I normally loose the front before the back goes, I have fount the rear to be very predictive and easy to control! wecome to the Z world mate and the life of being pennyless

Congrats on the purchase

Sounds like its running Jap Rubber. I still have Japanese spec 225 wide Yokohama Grand Prix tyres on the back of my TT, and wet or dry I cant floor it in a straight line until im in 3nd gear. 1st and 2nd gear is just frightening(or fun, depending on your perspective;)).

Headlights - Yep, awful. Beam pattern seems fine, but they are just too dull. There is plenty of posts on here about improving...or check out the Group buy for HID's in the Traders forum... £190 delivered, Bargain.

ive now owned my tt for about 3 weeks now great fun hang it hang it hang it

very predictable and a laugh the best bit is joe publics face when you come out of a junction or roundabout almost on the lock stops ahh so much more fun than understeery 4wd

It has pirrelli p6000s on front and rear I think the sliding is just down to inexperience with the car, and I havnt had it out in the dry yet to get used to it, also the box shifts down into first as your slowing down, so youve got bags of torque as your pulling out of the corner, I think I have to be a bit more delicate with the throttle.

I pulled into I road with a full on side ways drift, a bloke walking towards me on the path shiit it and jumped over the fence :xxx: it was so funny me and me mate was in tears :)

About the vibration at 40 mph. The center bearing was good on my drive line, but it wasn't until I removed the drive line and checked the u-joints that I noticed that they were notched with stiff spots in them.

If they are like the drive lines that came in the US models, the u-joints are not serviceable. Which means you can't grease them, so they are going to wear out. I eventually put a one piece aluminum back in my Z. It was cheaper than replacing with OEM drive line.

Topless93 where are you in Texas, I was there earlier in the year!

This could lead to a well known film phrase, can anyone guess?

Topless,

I live in League City, it's a small town south of Houston. It's half way between Houston and Galveston on Highway 45. It's far enough from the big city to have peace and quitet, but close enough to grab the big city life if you want.

I have a vendor that I'm dealing with on some proto-type products that is located in Greenock, Scotland. They have invited me to visit their plant, if I can ever find time to get away from the manufacturing plant.

When is the best time of the year to visit the UK (Weather or Party Time)

Regards,

Mike H.

UK is excellent for parties ALL YEAR...weather er not till June July August
