What do you all reckon? Should I keep my Z or sell it, sell my ZX6R as well and buy a low mileage Elise?

I rarely drive at high speeds (where the Z rules), never use my bike anymore, and want something more fun to drive. Much as I love the Z, it's cost me £5k to rebuild the engine, fit new turbos etc and I'm scared of something else major going wrong. What does everyone think?

I could get £7-8k for the car & bike together, spend 10k on a 1998 30k miles Elise and aim to keep it for the next few years (i only do about 6k miles a year). Insurance wise, there's not much difference. I can't decide!!!

Comfort and high power vs great handling, nippy speed that's more involving to drive.

If you can afford it, test drive an S2000. My missus has got one and it is a bloody good laugh to drive.

Handling is excellent and it's reasonably comfortable.

240bhp Vtec engine is an absolute screamer!! :D

That's got to be a way better alternative to an elise

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I bet a Z could reach 200mph. You will need a gearbox change but you will with virtually all cars to reach that speed.

Heh heh, I did think that too Stu, but as this is a ZX forum everyone would expect me to say it ;)

(plus any "visitors" would think I was being arrogant - let's check the Corsa/Nova forums, I bet a few of them will claim their car could do it  )

Also a ZX still holds that 260mph record, doesn't it?

If you drew a line with a 300ZX at one end and a ZX-6R at the other an Elise would probably be about in the middle.

Plus running cost would be quite low I guess compared to the Z and a bike together.

S2000 would be an option if I went a few grand more... not sure I can afford to though.

Craid David - good point about the half way between thge bike and car, that's exactly why it's an option I'm considering. Going to go and test drive one tomorrow to get a much better idea.

Well went for a test drive of an Elise... and the Z will be up for sale soon. The Elise is sharp, handles amazingly and actually can take speed bumps at speed!!!

Call it a hairdre4ssers car all you want, but it's a car that actually feels like you're driving, rather than being driven, and that's something very few cars give. It's the perfect balance between my Z and my bike.

Much as I love me Z, I need something more fun now... anyone want my rebuilt Z (see my other post)?

Think you should say 300zx CBR 125 then Lotus at the end as the 125 would beeeet it light's
