Hi

i have a '90 manual twin turbo, about two weeks ago it started spluttering and missfireing while driving and when left to idle it eventually stalled. i did an ecu test and got a code 55(no faults) when not running and a 24(throttle valve full load) when running, up till yesterday it ran for about 2 minutes then cut out. ive tried it today just starts splutters then stalls and now im getting code 12(air flow metre curcuit) and 13(engine temp sensor circuit) i got a diagostic guy out and he was about as much use as a chocolate teapot. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!

right, this is what I would do. Forget any diagnostic guy who doesn't know 300's. I would disconnect the battery for at least an hour and let the ecu reset everything. Then start her up and see if you get any codes without driving. If you get codes, post up on here. If not take her for a drive and then see if you get any codes. Sort one problem (error code) at a time. I'm sure with the help from everyone on here, your problems will be sorted out :)

Might be an idea to get your subscription in ;)

EHHHH if you got code 12(air flow metre curcuit) and 13(engine temp sensor circuit) the car would as you have said run like a bag of crap , I would clean the engine temp connector , to see if that sorts your code 13 out , now as regards your code 12 was it raining by any chance ?? if your AFM is up the creak you would not be able to go over 2k rpm this can be caused by water getting in to the AFM , I am a little lost as to what Zedworld are trying to sell you too sort your problem out.

I am a little lost as to what Zedworld are trying to sell you too sort your problem out.

That would be due to the fact that more information has been provided here than was to me on the phone!!!

No mention of fault codes, just the possibility of a fueling problem, fault coding checking would have been part of any answer I would give.

See Ryan, you will learn in time that you have by your own free will entered the arena of lions by starting your own business, could be any business, a butcher, a tailor, a zed specialist!

Many different types of situation will present themselves to any business owner, and you have to address them in away that fits that particular business, some good , some very good, some not so good, it is also common practice to start out without any biased agenda, just the good idea you want to fulfill.

As I see it from a few of the back handed comments you have placed on the forum here and there you have taken the moral high road against zedworld, fine not a problem for me, would be good though for you take take a minute or two to just remember the hours you spent calling me over the last two years for free help and advise, the parts you have purchased from me, the technical conversations we had, all of which you cleverly have now collected along with mountains of other subtly sourced information from elsewhere I assume into a nice sorted package and created... ztech BRAVO!

As I understand it Z-tech has entered into the world of zed specialist having done a lot of homework and no doubt a massive commitment from yourself Ryan both time, effort, and of course financially ....I know all this remember .... I have the T shirt etc. from comments good made on this forum all I can assume is Z-tech offer a very good all round service, a commitment to be as best as possible at been the best, knowing you Ryan as I do and the passion for the zed technicalities I would not for one moment doubt you in you ability to undertake this utilising your own and contractors skills.

I wish you ever luck in your future, but I am sure you will not need it not from me anyway, but remember once you have started chucking stones at people so early in your business foundation they often get chucked back when you least expect it.

Appologises to SI-Z no disrespect to yourself, not my place to high jack your thread.

WTF :xxx: Little bit touchy really aren't we  Once again you try to make someone else look the fool to elevate your own position. Get down off your ****in high horse (or out of your high chair) FFS!!!!!!!!!

Wow, not one to jump in on other peoples arguments but Jeff, sort it out mate.

Ryan was only trying to make sure a forum member did not spend money needlessly, nothing more. Buy getting him to do simple things like cleaning connectors first.

You really are not doing yourself any favours with you snidey posts and :xxx: attitude.

Sorry to jump in on this but it needs to be said.

Nick.

Hope you get the problem sorted m8. I know there is nothing more depressing then when your car misfires. :(

If you have no joy sorting it, just redo the thread there are loads of people on here willing to help (as i am sure you have noticed) :)

And in the meantime, you have to agree that this thread is more entertaining than the Jerry Springer Show. :D

Andy, don't get involved.......Ryan and Jeff can sort this out between themsleves...I think.

Your only making it worse.....:(

I don't get involved in anything anymore.......so no posts from me for a while about anything......apart from selling the Z again. :)

Matty.

LOL I know Matty, but onslaughts like that are just uncalled for!!! I've had it from him in the past and I know what its like, especially when you feel you have no support from others. Times are changing though :)

I hear what you are saying BUT I'm of the opinion it's up to the individual involved to sort it out with the other party they have a 'problem' with, which needs no-one else's input.....

.....surely if they know what's what they can do this easily enough......

Matty.

And to get back on topic;

SI-Z, I hope you get the Z sorted bud!!

:)

Matty.

I've always had a problem with him - does that count? ;)

ZedWorld have made a number of comments that I feel I need to address in order to have closure on this subject. The below is ZTechs reply.

Quote Zedworld – “Many different types of situation will present themselves to any business owner, and you have to address them in away that fits that particular business, some good, some very good, some not so good, it is also common practice to start out without any biased agenda, just the good idea you want to fulfil”

I totally agree and that is exactly what ZTech does. As you know a business is built and maintained on reputation and reputation alone. ZTech offers advise to it’s customers based on the information given by the customer at the time of discussion/or inspection of vehicle. It’s as simple as that. If a customer had had a quote/comments from another garage, ZTech’s reply would have been the same. ZTech has no bone with ZedWorld, we are two business’s offering different Zed related services.

I have been rebuilding engines since I was 12 years old so I like to think I’m fairly mechancically minded - and like any new project (for which my zed was) you need to do your research. When I purchased my zed, I looked for help in getting to know the intricacy’s of the car – I soon discovered there were very few places that knew about Zeds, and none bar SE and a few select others who have actually stripped an engine out and rebuilt it! The Forum, SE and yourself helped in my Zed education. So I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped me in the first few months of owning my Zed.

As you know to start any new business planning. You need to know your product, your market, your customers and your competitors – no business can be successful if just launched on a whim. It is good business sense to have databased information on all these aspects to enable a water tight business plan with in depth swot analysis, financials and growth projections to be devised. With the business plan developed, ZTech was born.

So let this be the final round. ZTech bears no animosity to ZedWorld – both business’s offer a different range of services so let us co-exist in peace, there’s enough fighting in the world and anyway it’s Christmas.
