Right,

I'm going to try and organise a trip. First off heres a few places i've found to kip over. What im hoping to do is drive down friday, a few beers, batter the ring the next day, then come home sunday. Anyone got any better ideas.

Heres the places to stop, first one on the page looks good to me and not too far away.

I reckong we should aim for early September, hmm perhaps 2 days there may be in order incase it rains on one day, dunno, whaddya reckon?

Anyway, Sept should give enough time for peeps to get some cash together.

So what do you reckon? Is it a go-er/

Always liked the idea of the ring, was going to go with my brother in his ferrari this year with someone form ferrarichat.com that organised it, the only person that went in the end was the bloke that tried sorting it, he came off on one corner and both him and his passenger were killed.

Kind of put me off after that.

thanks for those inspiring words, so there u have it, im the only one going and i wont be comming back!! ;)

I went to the N ring and when I went round they actually had coaches full of people going round as as tour ... if we could organise a proper day then that would be grand ..

It was a complete nightmare avoiding bikers, coaches, others cars etc ....

I'd be up for this. Next september gives me plenty of time.

Any idea what the total cost would be Scoops?

you have to be very carefull with the dates

they still use the track for various race series on Sat. mornings and if theres a crash it will not open to the public for the rest of the day,

and if the weather is too bad it wont open on the Sunday!

Me Me Me Me Me!!!!

Would be deffo up for it!!

Rich

If its a good price and the zed lasts then HELL YEAH!!!!

yes i'm up for it, if the zed is OK

its about 2 1/5 to 3 hours drive from the ferry

the Dorint is 'the' place to stay

Thought about doing this last year and didnt, so would be interested in this. Will have a new 3 month baby at that time so I am going to have to sweet talk the missus big stylee to make it happen.

Keep us posted on numbers and costs.

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Been - done it, and definitely worth doing again.

Would recommend making it a 4 day event.

Drive Friday, and arrive mid afternoon.

Have a reccie round the track.

Saturday return for whole day.

Sunday morning drive to Stuttgart and check into new hotel, see Mercedes museum, and Porsche museum.

OR

Second day at RING.

Monday drive back.

Hotel we stayed in was 30Mins from the RING, near the Mosel river.

Dorint Hotel. Not so bad as it give the engine a chance to fully cool down after a day at the RING.

Leigh.

http://www.nurburgring.org/prices.html

this shows the 2005 prices, 57 quid for a 6 lap ticket or 108 quid for a 12 lap ticket.

Looks like were gonna have to wait till the end of feb for the dates calender to come out to decide on a date

Right if anyone is interested:

Lemans trip sounds a bit kack to be honest so me and a couple of my compadrays, in a puslar and a westfield, are going to see the race, then pelting it down to the mighty RING for 4 days, then pelting it again to monaco to go totty spotting and then back via errr...... amsterdam.. maybe we havent decided that bit yet.

Dont ask me for cost cause its kinda difficult to gauge. Now that Dorint hotel has been mentioned i will probably try and contact them. but in terms of petrol money, money for leman, money for the nurburgring, and any other money you can think of, ie... youll need a fair wodge.

hey ho. but if your interested on a road trip style holiday for about 10 days then let me know

cheers happy new year blah blah blah
