Re: 555cc or 740cc injectors?

for the amount of money you'd spend on a border 850 kit (including plumbing, fittings, AFPR, etc...), you could have rebuilt your stock motor, or bought a remanufactured block with a warranty.

LMFAO That will be a mighty fine engine  Is it one from Duffers? LOL

There are some interesting theories surrounding all of the 555cc, 740cc and the complete 850cc Border Fuel Rail. At the end ofthe day everyone has differnt ideas in mind when it comes to tuning and the routes that they want to go down when it comes down to combining certain products. I say just go with whatever set up of Turbos, Injectors, ECU/Chip, exhaust etc etc that makes you happy and forget what everyone else is saying and doing to their cars and just get on and do your own thing...

interesting to note that they recon new Nismo 555's are actually 615cc! requiring different mapping - anyone experienced any probs over here?

there also dissin' the border rail kit Macca!!

The flow data I have suggested 540cc and 0.6ms void @ 14v

For mapping, I use K=205, which would suggest 520cc (370 * 288/205), but works well, any smaller and you'd start to run out of enrichment (mapping for ~9.5 gives 12:1 AFR on my car)

Without reading yer thread Paul ( lack of time) i do know that around May time this year when Nismo sent out a very large batch of the 555's for the pre 94 models, it was discovered that they were actually 615cc, this came about when a couple of Zed tuners in the US were discovering the cars were not running right after fitting their 555 chips in them, a load were tested and found be of a higher CC. It is only sussposed to be the batch that were sold back then ( a couple of thousand) and apparantly no more were made that way.

I only know cos my supplier of the 555's contacted me to advise my latest customers who i had sold too.

cheers
