Is this what you guys call rough idle?

 

Car once warmed is idling at very low revs. This has only started happening over the last two or so days. Its lowest is 450 and then the ecu seems to try and up the revs and so a bit at a time the revs get up to 900 but then shoots straight down again.

 

Hope ive explained this ok, all help as always appriciated.

Check out Maceij's ( aka Z Viking )web site. He has a tech section with a step by step guide on what to check to sort the idle. It helped me a great deal when I had this problem.

Which bit of the south coast are we talking about?, i.e.Hastings/Brighton or Torquay/Portsmouth?

 

With regard to the erratic idle I had a similar problem but upwards between 1000 & 1500 rpm. I did all the usual stuff but to no avail, I eventually found that the connector block near the Throttle Sensor gizmo needs to be pushed together REALLY hard to get a good connection, then the problem disappeared. I hope this helps.

Bournemouth is ok with me Martin. Just need to hop across on the Yarmouth to Lymington ferry then 20mins down the road. Lets see how many other south coast Zed onwners are interested.
