I haven't had many dealings with the police TBH. They did catch me doing 130 mph on the M40 about 1 year ago and all they did was give me a warning, so I guess I was very very lucky.

Wasn't even in my Zed then!!

So, some are good and some are complete jobsworths ... all depends on their mood at the time.

Just looked at the poll results and I see you can see who voted for what! Thats a new one.

No it is not James, done that for ages now you have a choice to make it like that.

I don't like the (large) number of coppers who sit in a canteen whinging, them feign a bad back at 45 and retire on full money.

Hear, hear - then they promptly go and get a job as "Support Staff" with the force from which they've just been "medically discharged" from :xxx:

Talk about jobs for the boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do you change this? .. I could only see who voted for what before I voted .. tell us Mac.

There's me working with computers all bloody day and I can't see this ... stupid monkeys!!

ROFL Chris when you do a poll make sure this box has a tick.....

Make votes public: Displays all users who voted, and what choice they voted for. Have a try;)

important thing to remember is that traffic police are a very different breed to the guys who wander around town on a friday night and do "proper" police work.

Most traffic police are cnuts, FACT! My missus has just joined the hampshire force and is off in kent training at the moment, first week there all her intructors were telling them what a bunch of "flat capped ****ers" traffic police were! its official nobody likes em!

There is an element of "judge dred syndrome" amongst some coppers, as soon as they get thier warrant card they start wandering around flashing it at every opportunity trying to intimidate people, luckily most of these get weeded out in the early stage, its shocking to hear how many get through the rigerous interviews etc only to get fired for gross misconduct/bringing the force into disrepute either during thier training or in thier first few weeks of the job (normally pissed up antics with the blokes)

Any one here had to deal with RMP's???? These Army coppers are so much worse than civvi pigs. We call them Monkeys, cos they are. :smw: The one 'assigned' to our camp is mince. He walks around wearing his flak jacket, 3 pairs of hand cuffs and numerous other pouches on his belt, ALL THE TIME. Oh yeah, he constantly has his bluetooth ear piece thingy in his ear, but the funny thing is, his phone is so old it cant possibly have bluetooth! Muppet!

Precisely. Black rats are the worst, even disliked by their own. Its them sneaky b8stards that give all the other plod a bad rep. Hell, I'd know where Id rather be on a cold New Years Eve night, and it aint out patrolling the sweets with the pi$$heads!!!!

You couldnt pay me enough to be a proper copper, not these days. Too dangerous and too much hassle.

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

PMSL luckily my only dealings are with the naval police down in portsmouth they seem content to leave us civvies alone and concentrate on making sure the sailors dont get too over excited about being let off thier ships for the night!!! normal procedure if a bunch of sailors get in a scrap is to pull them off the civvies (normally saving them from a proper kicking) bundle them off giving them a few good smacks on the way and lock em up for the night..

I quite like the bill, can't wait till Smithy finds out it was Gabrielle who shot Kerry!! :D

(excuse language) there ****ing ****ers

i drive an artic lorry for a living,,aprox100.000 miles per year, for nearly 20 years and never had an accident

i was turning left into a side street (indicators on), as i swung it wide to get the trailer round the corner, some stupid biatch tried to pass me on the inside

obviously i totaly crushed her car under the trailer.

now the bloody coppers are trying to doo me for careless driving

they said i should have seen her trying to pass me (illegally)

tossers

Like I said Mat a very close member of my family was one for over 30 years of course I love that person but I DO NOT love 75% of the Police force,I don't hate them at all but reading some of the posts in this thread surly has got to make you stop and think about a fair proportion of things they do and some of their PIG HEADED attitude?

True bud very true....not saying all are good mate but not saying all are bad either.....like all walks of life...............:(

As Mac said at the beginning of this thread I was stopped for doing supposedly 82 on a main dual carraigeway, it was 5.20 on a Sunday afternoon hardly rush hour. The fact that I was only doing 75 along with 4 other cars following me, has really p****d me off.

I am putting it down to the fact that I was driving a modified car, I think he was expecting a 20 yr old to be driving it.

Apperently he stopped me because I was "at the front". Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to see my mates get done, but is that really a fair decision????

I'm waiting for my court date as I have pleaded not guilty but will no doubt still get points and an even bigger fine.

To top it off, when the copper drove off after giving me my ticket he did a U-turn in a junction clearly marked no U-turns :xxx:

Guess who has been helping me put my defence case together.................

A local Traffic Cop  they aint all bad!!!

I have run into coppers who, when the chips were down (and we're not talking speeding fines) did a really top job and I'm glad they're out there.

A few years ago I had access to all the criminal case files for the RMP. You want to see how many of them get kicked out for being poofs! One case was a Sergeant who took loads of pictures of himself with his butt cheeks spread open and his 'swagger' stick poked up his arse! He sent them off to a gay contact mag, but threw all the negs in the BASE SKIP!- which is how they were found and he was in the sort of shit that he didn't want to be! HAHAHAHAHA!!

(I'd have put a few smilies in this but they ain't working at the mo)

PMSL!!!! :smw:

What was it that the skinheads used to have tattooed

across their knuckles?.....A.C.A.B.....

Seriously though, the police force just seems to be a

money making organisation now, just interested in hitting

targets for the month etc... Whether its right or wrong

doesn't seem to come into it anymore. The majority of

coppers i have met seem to be complete tossers, always

have a chip on their shoulder and a point to prove. There are however

some good guys, one of them posts on here. He'll probably

make himself known somewhere in this thread :)

IMO the only targets police should have is a precentile of reported crimes and minor offences should not fall within these targets. That includes traffic offences.

Any on the spot crimes are resolved regarded as a bonus metrics and do not come into the bread and butter metrics, i.e they catch a burglar on the job etc

Would it ever happen?

Actually the money is pretty good! :D varies from force to force but 22k ish starting salary as a probationer is pretty good, overtime is readily available for those that want it and pays well too! The missus seems to think she'll be on 35+ in 2 years, (doing some extra exams and stuff) hell of a step up from a civil servant earning 12k so she's happy!! (so am I more "disposable" cash between us for booze and zeds!!)

The missus seems to think she'll be on 35+ in 2 years

Hmm.. 36k to sit at a desk and write software, or 35k to risk being stabbed/shot and having to deal with the scum of the earth (so, most people then  )..

Think I know which I'd pick ;) You really couldn't pay me enough to be a copper - but then again, I really do hate people in general ;)

One thing to say really, traffic police are :xxx:

Never been stopped in the Z at all before, then got stoped three times in two weeks just as a check on my car,

Complete bullshit
