speedo error

had my zed back from having the gearbox re-built and now every now and again the speedo will flick right round past the 180 mark and the power steering get really stiff (i suppose it must have some sort of progressive valve on the steering wich is enabled by high speed) but the issue is why is the speedo playing up .... ive got a convertor on it from kmh to mph from the zcentre i thought it might be this and got it swapped but it still does it

can anyone enlighten me please ????
