Hi all,

Ok i am really new here, and only just secured my nex Zed yesterday (I have bought the black zed from cc300)

I am reading a lot about safety boost, how do you know if your car is running on this, and how if it was would you change that ?

I have not collected mine yet, so its not a problem i think i have, just very interested.

I feel all alone here lol

safety boost is when the car cuts boost down to 7psi - check your boost gauge on the dash. various problems can cause the car to go into safety - the experts will tell you what they are. hope the car's a good-un mate.

Safty boost is 7psi while normal is 9psi.

You can tell because the car feels slow, very slow to what it should be. Other than that the boost gauge should show 7psi instead of 9.

It is caused be the detonation sensor detecting a problem and sending a signal to the ECU to go into safty boost. But faulty boost sensors will also activate safty boost even though there is no detonation.

The car will clear the safty boost mode when you turn your car off. WHen you start your car safty boost mode will be activated until the engine temp has reached a certain temp.

it is advised to stay away from any car which is always in safty boost mode.

You can also do an ecu check on the problem. This will give you a code of any troubled sensors.
