Im planning on popping down to micheldever tyres to get a proper 4wheel tracking job done, has anybody been there before with thier zed? couple of local places couldnt do the job cos the zed was too low and they couldnt get it on thier ramps (not lowered, just a 99 spec front end?!?!?!)

ย

didnt want to drive all the way there to find they have the same problem!

I've been to Micheldever Tyres - no probs with a 90 spec front end.

Ring them first as they tend to get busy in the tracking bay(s).

ย

The last time I went down there, I phoned one afternoon and told them I needed 4 new tyres and that I'd need the alignment done too. They said "No problem, just bring it down first thing tomorrow". I asked if I needed to book a time and was told that I didn't. So I drove down there (which is a long way in rush hour traffic from Redhill), got the tyres fitted and they said "Sorry, we can't do the alignment today. We're too busy!"

ย

Fortunately one of their managers sorted it out eventually and said that as they'd said they'd do it on the phone, they had to do it. I don't think they were too happy when I pointed out that if they weren't going to do the alignment, they could take off the new tyres and put my old ones back on as I had no intention of scrubbing the new ones all the way back home! :mac1:

thanks chaps, im hoping they wont be too busy at 4pm but Ill call anyway!

cheers

You may find that they don't have time to do it if you only get there at 4.

  • 3 weeks later...

Thought I'd add to this thread as I've just been down there, in case anyone else searches for info on this place...

If you want 4 wheel tracking from the outset, then you have to pre-book, so best to ring first.

ย

If you just turn up (like I did!) then they'll take all the measurements but will only adjust the front toe, for ยฃ19.

ย

You then have to book to have the rear toe done, which will cost ยฃ26. And they only take appointments for weekdays. Presumably for the whole lot in a one-er it costs ยฃ45...

ย

And lastly, if you only want tracking done, you can skip the "tyre" queue and go straight to the "tracking" queue (though you do have to go in through the exit :nono: )
