now them cold winter mornings are here my z hates tickin over when cold (even with the aircon on)am i right to think its a dodgy air regulator? the neighbours love me at 6 blipping the throtle :D

any ideas guys this is startin to get quite bad now had tha aircon on this morning and still had to blip it for a few mins or shed cut out.

Try checking/cleaning the ECU temp sender connector, if that don't cure it do a search on here HTH :)

Two things I'll suggest - If you have multimeter tester, you can test the MAF, can't remeber hat it should read off-hand but will check for you.

 

Second, don't rev the engine when warming up - especially if its a turbo Z. If not turbo, bear in mind most engine wear happen within the first few minutes of start-up.

thanks ill try cleaning that n ill take a look at the site.tis a tt but i only rev it ever so slightly only way itl keep runnin never gets blipped over 1200revs

Could be poor compression

I had the same problem a while back so i removed all the pipes running to and from the induction (3 on ech side - six in all) i replaces them all with silicone jobbies and it worked fine.

 

Any splits in these will cause crap tickover
